On October 23rd, the U.S. Coast Guard suffered the tragic loss of Morgan Garrett (CGA 2019) in an aviation training mishap in Alabama, along with her Navy flight instructor. The entire CGA community continues to offer our sincerest condolences to LTJG Garrett’s family, friends, classmates and shipmates.
Today, we showed our support to LTJG Garrett's loved ones and shipmates by observing morning colors.
She was a beloved member of the Class of 2019, was a leader of Echo Company and the Corps of Cadets, and was outstanding as the Regimental Activities Officer. As a cadet, she competed in track and field as a mid-distance runner and she was a Marine and Environmental Sciences major. LTJG Garrett has been posthumously promoted to the rank of lieutenant junior grade.
She left an indelible mark on the Coast Guard, her classmates and the entire community, and she will be sorely missed by all. Rest in peace, shipmate.
