Introduction
The Mangos are the Jersey Shore's favorite southern rock band. Leading the group is the bass player of the original Southern Cross Band, Joe Prewitt, lead singer, songwriter and guitarist. On vocals and guitar is Dan Mileaf, formerly of Mahogany Ridge and Canned Heat. On bass and vocals are Jimmy Jett and Frankie Gibson. You can see any of a number of drummers, from Ron Maillieux, Johnnie Hawes, Charlie Mills, to Steph Gobel, Al Lind, and Jimmy Callahan. The Mangos have been around for 30 years this year, and have played with or shared billing with the likes of the Outlaws, The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rossington Collins, Marshall Crenshaw, Molly Hatchett, 38 Special, Charlie Daniels, and countless others, most recently sharing the stage with Toby Keith at the famous Stone Pony.
