Awesome female tribute band.
GREAT-PAGE...…..LOL READING THE STORIES ---- WORLDS - GREATIST - BAND...…...SAW THEM IN 1977 MADISON GARDEN, SOMEBODY IN THE CROWD LIT A ROCKET, IT WENT UP AND HIT THE CELING AND CAME BACK DOWN, IN THIS GUYS BIG AFROW.... THAN EXPLODED ……...IM SURE HE"LL NEVER FORGET THAT-NIGHT.....
You all know...I'm on school busses...need to relay a story... with kids and cellphones...I hear alot of rap coming across them...had a discussion with one on rap music...he asked what I used to listen to...I told him..used to and still listen to Led Zeppelin...he said "did he rap?"...uhm...no son...these men had pure talent...reason why rappers rap is because they can't sing...doesn't take talent to rap...led Zeppelin had no computers..no sound helpers..nothing but pure talent...he laughed..I laughed harder.. lol
Since I'm on the page I figured I'd share this too. Once when writing out the bands name the L and the Z overlapped. So I would it on purpose sometimes after that. One day a friend came over and had made this in woodshop for me. That was in 80 or 81 (man I'm old), but I still have it next to my turntable.....yes I still spin vinyl and have a working turntable. I still search for records at yard sales, Salvation...See More Army, and shop for it at used record stores. There are a few companies that make reproductions from the cover to the label on the record, even the albums paper sleeve. Plus they're a thicker heavier vinyl which is nice but still not original. I know babble on......sorry, not really sorry but it sounded polite, lol.
Not a great picture of it. But this was my 13th birthday cake (Dec. 1980, not long after Bonham's death). It was in the shape of a van with each of their logos on the side. The picture on the side is out of a magazine of the band on stage and the driver is Bonham. I know it's corny but I was 13 and they were my favorite band.
A few pictures from when I saw and got to meet John Paul Jones when he was touring some small venues promoting his new album in 2000. The band I was playing in at the time used to play the same club (Jaxx in VA) and we knew the owner. So he let me and my guitar player in during their sound check. They sat down at the table with us for a little bit and it was all I could do not to act like a crazed fan and hold my...See More cool. I did ask him to sign my In Through The Out Door album. I also said, "I can't believe I'm sitting next to the man who jammed with the John Bonham in the greatest band of all time". I was 32 years old and I felt like a little kid at the circus.
