First Silver, let me say that I agree totally with mfreedom, in that we should always ASK... however, in this case your verbage DOES seem to imply some type of attempted deceit, so let me answer your points...

1. Crickett posted the amount raised on her status line for 3 days- it is now on mine, and has been for the past several days.  Unfortunately, her ability to send mass emails for this event was blocked for some reason months ago,or she would have done so.

2. Each run was independent, and charities varied, as they were chosen by the coordinator of each run.  All were to have had a representative on hand to receive the funds after the ride.  For example, in Lexington, our charity was PCA of KY, and their representative was there for the money count and took all funds with her afterward.

3. It is JUST POSSIBLE that if you messaged Crickett a WEEK prior to the event that she was too busy to answer... as any of the wonderful VOLUNTEER coordinators will tell you, the last few weeks were "hectic" to say the least.

NOW, MY TURN: (For those of you who know that I am normally the "Diplomatic Diva", please look away, cause Silver HAS flipped my bitch switch)

1.How is it that a person seemingly intelligent enough to write an email could be so stupid as to think that even the best money making run could POSSIBLY be worth the MONTHS of planning, expense, and personal sacrifice that this endeavor entailed?  We made $4,000 in Lexington- if you divide that by the hours spent organzing, personal expense of print, etc, minimum wage would look pretty good- HARDLY worth the trouble.

2. Did it ever occur to you to look at Crickett's profile to see the amount raised, or were you just waiting for the world to serve YOU?

3.Did you participate in this event at all? ( I'm just curious to know if you are indeed sincere in your quest for information, or just another ass clown determined to pour piss on the world while he sits on his ass and looks for evil in the world?)

I'm not saying this because Crickett's my sister, I'm saying this OUT OF RESPECT FOR ALL THOSE WHO GAVE ... their time, attention, money, sweat, and TEARS.

I'm all for freedom of speech, ( Hallelujah!) so here's mine: YOU SIR, ARE A FUCKTARD.

Well said DD!!! We had Nah sayers when we were trying to get this event going and we still have them after. I too had a charity rep. there to handle all the money, just so people could not say I stuck it in my pocket! Sad to say, that yes, there are people who do rides for one thing, and then it goes in their pockets. So, yes, it is a good ideal to check out all the info on a ride. Some people dont know us, but the people that do, KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT, that we are not "that kind" of person. I guess thats why we take such offense to someone making a suggestion to the fact that we would be so underhanded to take the memory of a child that was murdered, as a front to get funds for child abuse!! I agree, that if you doubt our intentions, then dont attend! But, if you do your homework, and do some research on the ride, you will find out all the charity's that benefited from this nationwide event in Katelynn's memory.

As far as the event held at Destination Daytona, the estimated total was announced at the event, actual total was posted the next morning.
Bikers Against Child Abuse (the charity chosen for Florida) was also notified of the amount the day after the event (in fact, we still have donations coming in - received three today).  If anyone feels a need for confirmation, they can email me and I will give them the contact info at BACA of Florida.  But if you are worried that your money will not go where it's meant to, I suggest from now on that you either do not donate at the event or mail your check directly to the charity itself.
(which was an option posted on the event page).

May I also STRONGLY suggest that next year instead of asking questions AFTER the fact, you volunteer to help BEFORE and DURING?  Then you can be involved in the process rather than questioning those who are.

Crickett, YOU may be the next Diplomatic Diva- I'm DONE!  I'm sorry, but I watched TOO MANY PEOPLE work their fingers to the bone on this project (YOU ESPECIALLY), and had to defend it WAY too many times to be diplomatic.

I DO applaud ALL my sister's attempts at civility, and go on record as saying that there is NEVER any guarantee when we try to make the world a better place, but God help us all if we STOP TRYING.

As for those who would take advantage of a tragedy like this for personal gain, there IS a day of reckoning-there is NO doubt in my mind.

Mr. Bear, I'm sure you don't think that would be fair after I asked a very simple question, her reply was "I think your post raised more questions than answers:"..... nuff said! ...

Miss DD, I have been involved with charity events since a teenager, I'll go to grocery stores to get food donated, auto, sporting and department stores for gift certificate's to raffle, print shops for donated flyers, at the event there IS no expenses to pay and everyone is happy. You can not tell me a thing about Fundraisers, thank you.

Miss Crickett, I have recieved numerous BON messages advertising, thanking and praising YOU for being "The National Coordinator" of this event and I thank you for whatever it is you did, it's obvious alot of people donated alot of money and it went someplace.

As the "National Coordinator" I would expect at the very least every group that participated sent you a copy of their check showing the amount and recipient so you could show all who were interested how much money was raised and where it went.

As the "National Coordinator" I assumed you had each group on the same page as to how and when these things would be done.

Again, how much money was raised $10000.00, $50000.00, $150000.00, $250000.00 ..... ? How many bikes rode at $25.00 each? 10000 bikes nationwide is a lowball guess to me, thats a 1/4 million dollars gone someplace, wouldn't it be nice to know where it went?

Thats all I'm asking, a very simple question. This is a public site and you are the "National Coordinator" of a nationwide event alot of folks feel very good about abd put alot of work into.

For those of you that feel in any way this is none of my business or that my intent is to start trouble I suggest you go back to school and learn how to read. Go back to my first post here and read it again. It's a very simple question, one that should be made public for all to enjoy and feel good about.

well  Jerry  I  only  paid  10$  to  do the  ride  so  I  don't  care  where  it  went but I'd  have  gladly  paid  50$ to  watch  you  squirm  like this .

Perhaps you  might  have a  point  about  it  being  nice  to  know had you  participated  on  any  level . Does your  lack of  participation  and  consequent  mud  stirring  imply  that  you  are  pro  molestation and  murder  of  children ?

Inquiring  minds  want t o know ?

This is  way  more  fun  then  waiting  for the  other  riders  t o finish their  cocktails  so  we  could  move  on to  the  next  place to  drink only  to  have  everyone  riding  home  in  a torential  downpour . I  hope  everyone  from the  eastern  PA  run  made it  home  safely
