Introduction:
Okay...I'm planning my trip to Alaska next summer and looking for others who might want to make the trip with me. I will be riding from here to Bellingham, WA and taking the ferry up to Haines...where the trip will really begin. I'm really looking for anyone who will be making the trip from Alaska to Sturgis so I have company on the southbound leg of the trip. Know anyone? I'm also looking for places to stay while I'm up there and anyone who would like to show me around their "World of Wonder."
Here is the rough draft of the route I planned using the Harley trip planner program... http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner/share/180558
I'm a big Harley rider...logged over 145,000 miles in the last seven years. My idea of fun is to pack up the bike and take off for a couple of weeks to go visit my granddaughter in Atlanta or take off for six or seven weeks during the summer, traveling the highways and byways of this big, beautiful country of ours. I try to go every summer. Next summer I hope to make the Alaska trek. I ride all day and pitch a tent most every night and I usually ride alone...not that I wouldn't enjoy some company (if the chemistry was right).
READ BLOG..... MOTORCYCLE TRUTH! It pretty much sums it up. Just can't live without it.
I'm a pussy cat underneath this mildly tough exterior. Honesty and integrity are number one. The Golden Rule is how I live my life. Judge not lest ye be judged.....and all the good stuff that makes life easier to play in.
Fall update: On 6/21/07 I bought a new Road King Classic (minus the damn white walls) and added 18" apes, Vance & Hines true dual pipes, plus, etc...with a 7 yr/unlimited mile warranty. I love the extra power and the cruise control. I've already racked up over 31,000 miles. Whoohoo!!!
I retired from being an accountant about five years ago but I do a little side work for friends who have businesses that provide bookkeeping services, as well as doing a little work on my own. Love working... but don't want to take on too much with the grandmother duties (which includes riding to Atlanta to visit as often as possible)and my long summer getaways. Yes, I do love to spend the entire summer out riding my bike.
Let's see...what else?...I was married for seventeen years. My ex ran off with my best friend. Oh well! We are both happier now anyway...and after all these years we are becoming friends again. I have two beautiful children....My son, Shawn is 34 and my daughter, Starlynn is 30. And then there is the little one...my beautiful granddaughter, Gianna. She's seven now.
I currently have a wonderful man in my life who makes me happy. We laugh a lot and that's truly what makes my world go round. You can never have too much fun.
My daughter and granddaughter live in Atlanta so I ride a lot, back and forth across the country. Not much into runs...except Sturgis. We have a great group of people that camp together at Glencoe and I wouldn't miss it.

2007 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic 18" chubbie apes, replaced rear shocks to lower 2", Vance and Hines true duals, ditched the white walls and traded the stock engine guard for a Lindy type bar that has built in/flip out highway pegs. She's set up to make long distance runs with a cargo rack, passenger and driver back rests and two t-bags that zip together (one is an ice box). |
