I am moving on and healing in heart, mind and soul with the help of my Bear and brothers in the American Biker Knights, as well as the multitudes of folks who love me. The real healing will come as I reclaim my saddle and take my place as Knight once again.
In my own way, the following is for the truck driver who took away so much from me in a split second of stupidity and holds no feelings of responsibility or remorse. It's unlikely he will see it but it's out there for him and anyone else who looks at us with such fear and hate.
I'm a simple Iowa girl with complex tastes and even more complicated desires. I love to ride more than almost anything, but physics and my kids are close seconds.
I have a closet full of leather, latex and hippy skirts. Someday I'll live in Japan but until then I'll wander around Colorado and California. Since I have to work for a living I support idiots who can't figure out how to log into servers and try not to bang my head too hard on my desk.
But I have dreams and I will escape the drudgery with my amazing insight into the quantum theories of gravity and spend coffees and cocktail napkins with brains who wear socks that don't match.
The American Biker Knights is the only family I've ever had besides my kids, and I would stand with them against the gates of hell or maybe heaven... I think hell will probably be more friendly. Of course I don't really believe either exist so it's a moot point. But the one on the end of my sword is neither moot nor dull. Let's not test it.
In the summer we ride, and in the winter we spend the time as all warriors should; practicing our fighting and cleaning our weapons for the next battle.
One of my favorite songs to sing out loud was Meredith's "I'm a Bitch" until my 4 year old started singing it loudly in the doctors office. But I still love the song. He's 16 now and can sing it anywhere he wants now, but seems to think that might be a less than manly move.
I've found my lion tamer, dark and dirty, dust on his boots, hard rider who can hang with the best of us, but put a rose in his leathers without crushing it. He has mystery and an edge and a heart of gold and knows how to be a man.
As to friend requests: Nothing personal to folks in the rest of the country but I'd rather keep a manageable list of people I might have a possibility of riding with.
Favorite Quotes: A human being is a part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest... a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. -Albert Einstein
