Introduction:

Thanks for stopping by my profile. I always wonder what to write when I fill out one of these, and figured out years ago ya might as well be up front and honest with folks from the start, 'cause it'll ALWAYS bite ya in the ass sooner or later if ya aren't. I'm a Texan; not a cowboy, just a laid back, ol' country boy. Proud Vietnam Veteran, biker, Parrothead, and motorhead. My idea of a great week-end would begin by spending Saturday at an all day Jimmy Buffet concert, followed by a Sunday at the drag races, watching Nitro burnin' Harleys tear up the quarter mile track.

Unlike many folks who's profiles I've read here, I've only owned one Harley. Would love to have a new Twin Cam Ultra Classic, but don't wanna have to sell the '49 Panhead I've owned since 1975 just to afford it. I finally figured out how to post music here, so I'll share a David Allen Coe tune with ya called "This Old Panhead of Mine". Pretty much sums it up.

Fix em once and fix em right is one of my mottos. Besides, after 33 years, I've grown kinda fond of it. It ain't got a starter button, but if ya keep 'em tuned right, (AND know how to find the compression stroke), you too can have a 2 kick Harley. Yeah it's old, and seen alotta hard miles and bumpy roads, but what the hell, so have I. You don't get rid of your faithful dog just because he gets old, do ya? If you do, then I don't wanna be your friend. Maybe one day I'll have 2.

I've been lucky to have traveled and seen quite a bit of this big 'ol world. I've been to the opera house in Sydney, watched the Calgary Stampede rodeo, climbed to the top of a Mayan pyramid in the jungles of Guatemala, stood in the middle of a cotton field in central Brazil, and seen some really crazy shit in the bars in the Philippines. Anyway, take a moment to post a note on my wall and let me know you stopped by.

Funny, I guess 'ol Joe and I have a couple of things in common. My very first concert was in the summer of 1970 in Indianapolis, and Joe's band was Barnstormer back then. He's been a favorite ever since. I'm happy he's still rockin', and even more so that we're both living sober now, almost 40 years later.
