Introduction:
I am a single mother that is trying to bring awareness to a vary rare disease. My son is 13 years old and has a disease that less then 300 kids get in the world. It is called Dense Deposit Disease.
My son came down with this dense deposit disease in March. What it does is attack both of his kidneys and will go into kidney failure sometime with in ten years. There is no cure, no reason for him to get it, and it is not genetic. There is less then three hundred cases in the world. The government will not fund any research on this because there is not enough people that have it. There is people working on a cure. Joby's blood is in Iowa, Germany, and Canada, where that are doing the research. First case was in 1967, but data is only ten years old. If he gets a transplant, this disease will come back and attack the new kidney. They are also telling me that he will lose his eye sight some where down the road. He is not in kidney failure yet. They have put him on high doses of steroids to help stop the destruction.
All though we have the kidney destruction held at bay, with very little happening there. Joby is facing several other issues caused by the steriods. Such as battling Pneumonia, Bronchitis, Sinus infection and now Stomach Ulcers. All though this sounds normal, it is not. He is having a hard time keeping up with school. It has became impossible for me to work. For one cold it takes two to three trips to the doctor. Sometimes two antibiotics take fight off the infection. He can not play in sports because of his system is easy capable of getting anything another kids has. And it is so hard on him to fight it.
To learn more about this disease go to KIDNEEDS foundation. There is more but this is the most of it. I have been ask by several of you if they can donate to our cause. I do not mean to offend any one and am not asking for a hand out. But if you would like to donate every penny is helpful and greatly appreciated. This is a PAYPAL ACCOUNT. Your donations is tax deductible.
Thank You Joby's Fan Club
TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAS TAKEN THE TIME TO READ ABOUT MY SON AND GAVE YOUR DONATION AND PRAYERS, WE WANT TO SAY THANK YOU. IT MEANS SO MUCH TO US. |
