Southern Shift is a Northern New Jersey based Southern Rock band that was started by our singer, Leo, about 20 years ago. I (Danny, guitar player) got a call from a friend who played bass for Southern Shift in the beginning. He said they needed a fill-in that night. I said "what the hell", and I've been there ever since.
Since that time, way back, I've had the pleasure of playing with a lot of great musicians and made great friends along the way. (I feel very fortunate in that way.)
Knowing the importance of playing the music well, we've always strived to play each and every song with cutting precision, not always successful, but playing our hearts out none the less. With our current lineup, I feel the quality of the music is hard to surpass. With John Henderson on bass (also a long standing member of the band and a great friend) playing rhythm section with Ron Lipnicki on Drums (current member of the national act metal band Overkill), the drive of the band is undeniable. Also, having Ronnie Papa on guitar, and a great great player at that, just makes the music sing like never before. He also, coincidently, has the same last name as me. It is a pleasure playing my guitar with him to say the least. Leo, our singer, is as good as they come. If you've never heard these guys play, then I invite you out. It truly is an experience you won't forget.........Hope to see you there.
