About Me:
I am what I am.....nothing more, nothing less... a 60 year old Navy veteran/ beetle brow'd/ barrel chested/ knuckle dragging/ Neanderthal/ musician/ college graduate/ amateur paleontologist/ stubborn/ cantankerous/ obstinate/ head strong/ old war barge and I make no apologies for it. I live by the antiquated and obsolete concepts of the sea; my ship, my God, my country, my honor. I don't lie, cheat or steal, nor ship with those who do. I have no tolerance for drunks, bullies, mud crabs, bilge rats or arm-chair admirals. I’ve weathered enough stormy seas and battened down enough hatches to last 2 lifetimes. My convictions will not be compromised nor are they negotiable. I will not have my integrity challenged. I will not BS you. If I have something to tell you, I will tell it to your face, not your back. I've earned every one of my white hairs. I'm a free rider....I owe no allegiance to any bike club or organization. I don’t follow trends and could less about opinions. I don't wear my cap backwards or my trousers around my crotch. I still write letters with a fountain pen. I do not impose my views on others nor will I have their views imposed on me. Although I am not a hermit crab, my privacy is sacred. I will not divulge any personal information unless we have established a friendship based on trust. Too many loonies are in the halls. I will not weigh into your space. I will not let you weigh into mine. I'm not “Rockefeller” rich. I am as interested in a buck as the next guy, but my life does not revolve around the pursuit of money. I would rather build something than buy it, even though I know it will probably cost me twice as much. Besides, I already have all of the material things I want. I don’t need any more. Nor with all my schooling am I “Einstein” smart. If I was, I would not have done all the foolish things in my life that I did. I believe respect is something that is earned, not given. I am at peace with who I am, where I hail from and where I'm bound. I do not pass judgment on others for I recognize my own faults. I will not be guilt-tripped into doing something I don't want to do. I will not be humiliated, made sport of, or provoked. I do not do these things to others. I will not have them done to me. Do not confuse quietness with weakness. I may have a long fuse, but it burns quite hot and quick once lit. If I am your friend, I will stand at your side through the maelstrom of Cape Horn. If I am your enemy, I am your worst fuckin' nightmare. I still laugh at Road Runner cartoons and when I can, Rocky & Bullwinkle and old John Wayne cowboy movies on Saturday mornings. I will read a book before watching American Idol. My family is my strength. Though my children are all grown and on their own, I remain the doting father and now, grandfather. I am ferociously merciless in their protection. I will not be changed, made over or modified. This is the way God made me, and this is the way I will remain. I’ve been told I'm a relic...a throw back to the days of wooden ships and canvas sails....that I am outdated by modern technology....a museum piece....a fossil whos ideas and principals are as antiquated as the ships I once sailed...........and that may be true............. but as long as I have my family, my friends, my toys (motorcycle, hot rod, guitars, etc) and my Pink Floyd and Moody Blues albums (remember albums?).....
yeah..........I can live with that.
