About Us
Stand Against Child Abuse was founded by Mike Wallace following the tragic death of his granddaughter Kaycie in October of 2008. She was just three years old and her death was a result of ongoing child abuse perpetrated by her mother’s boyfriend. Evidence pointed to abuse that had been occurring for quite some time but was covered up by some family members as well as others who had suspicions but were unwilling, or too afraid to get involved and report. Having been abused himself when he was a child, Mike realized that all too often child abuse is unreported and many times covered up, and he felt compelled to do something positive with such a negative situation. A core group of individuals with various backgrounds and talents were brought together with the soul purpose of bringing to the forefront the true seriousness of this issue, and Stand Against Child Abuse was born.
Our Mission
Raise awareness of child abuse, it’s signs, and the possible results of allowing the cycle to continue.
Provide referrals to resources available to those who suspect abuse, who are in danger of continuing the cycle of abuse, or who have need of counseling and/or other forms of support following confirmed abuse.
Raise money to help support non-profit organizations who are available to counsel and otherwise support victims of child abuse and their families.
Funding for our organization comes from private businesses, corporations and individuals. Stand Against Child Abuse receives no funds from federal, state, or local governments. All funds collected go directly back into furthering our mission, whether it is donated to non-profit organizations, or spent on promotion for our events. There are no paid employees. All individuals involved are strictly volunteers for this cause.
