Introduction: Hello, my name is Jeff. I live on Long Beach Island and have been riding since 1982. During the week I'm in the IT field at an FAA tech center in Pleasantville. I'm a musician on the side, been playing bass player in rock bands for longer than I care to admit. Currently I am playing in an ACDC tribute band called NINETEEN/STONE. Please check out our myspace: www.myspace.com/nineteenstoneband I also have 2 ex-racing greyhounds that are my kids. Love me, love my dogs.
OK, so this is how it works, you send me a friend request and I accept it, I assume you want to actually get in touch with me, so I expect some sort of message to follow. If not, what's the point? And not just a cut/paste comment. That's a lame way to start off. It would be nice to get a message once and a while if you're going be my friend. And something with a little content rather that one or two lines. I assume you would want the same in return. And remember, you got to send them to get them! Ü
That said, now that I've been on here for a while I can see the point in having minimal contact friends, to see what rides they are going on that maybe I want to join. It can depend on the situation.
And please, no chain messages. I won't send them back, and they'll stop with me. It's just like junk mail to me, and I treat it as such.
This is a link to a video of the band in June. Pretty good quality for a hand held camera!
Turn ons:
Seeing my dogs doing the happy dance when I come home! A good night gigging when all the guys in the band are on top of their game! Sitting on my deck, enjoying the bay view with someone special.
Turn offs:
Scammers!(We know who you are) People who add you as a friend but then never respond. What's the point?? Bad email grammer!! How cow!! How about using punctuations?? You had to at least learn that much in high school!!
One or two line messages. Lame
Ideal:
Non-smoker, attractive and in decent shape would be nice. A job helps too! Open to the possibility of having kids at some point.
Activities: Bass Player in a rock band. I'm the long haired 80's rocker type. I'm at the point now where I feel like a dinosaur. But people still love to see me play. I guess it's like a throw back to them. I never thought I would have seen this day. But I love performing, it's in my blood. The roar of the crowd is an addicting high!
I also try to stay in somewhat decent shape. I workout 3 days a week and walk every night. That's fine but I need more cardio. I'd like to find someone who would run my fat ass around the tennis court or on a bicycle.
Interests: My greyhounds, they're like my kids. Being home with them is like a little slice of paradise. Since I'm in the IT field, computers interest me somewhat. Although it was computer gaming that first attracted me to the field. It sort of just took off from there.
Favorite Music:
As long as it's rockin' I'm rollin'! 80's hair metal is my passion. DIO, WASP, CRUE, KISS, SCORPIONS, ACDC ETC. It's all good. But I also had to go through the 60's and 70's to get to the 80's, so there's a lot of good stuff there too. I don't really care for much of the new music, that late night primal screamming, kill everyone crap is so unappealing. And there's no rap or country in my cd collection!!
Favorite TV Shows: Not a big TV watcher, but I usually have The History Channel on as background noise. I liked the new Battlestar Galactica series though. That was the last show I watched with any regularity.
Favorite Movies: This can be quite a wide range. But I tend to like older classics. Movies that were made before I was born. Errol Flynn is my all time favorite actor though. His portrayal of Robin Hood is still the one all the rest are compared to.
Favorite Books: Can't say I'm a big book reader, although I did get very interested in The DaVinci Code. Even read it while I was driving!! I used to belong to a military book club so I have a small collection of books from that time period.
Favorite Quotes: From an inscription I once saw: If Tears Could Build A Stairway And Memories A Lane, I Would Walk Right Up To Heaven And Bring You Home Again.
From a poem by Robert Frost: I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference
From the movie,"The Seahawk": "Don Alvarez, we serve others best, when at the same time we serve ourselves".
Sam Kinison: "Go ahead, I dare you to care!"
Me: A rainy day at home, is better than a sunny day at work
Another line from one of my fav movies: "It seemed like a good idea at the time"
From the movie,"Jason And The Argonauts" The Gods are served best by those who want their help least.
Native American Indian Proverb "There are many paths to the Great Spirit"
General: "It is what it is"
While having a discussion with a crotch rocket rider who was bragging his 250cc was faster than my 1100cc, I said, "I'd rather be big and slow, than fast and small" That pretty much shut ole pee wee up!
From The Wizard Of Oz: Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable.
Unknown: Real Men Wear Black
Me: There is a fine line between feeding the fire, and smothering it.
Jason & The Argonauts: The gods are best served by those who want their help least.
About Me: Born in PA, but been living at the Jersey shore most of my life. IT pays the bills, but my dogs, music and ridin are my stress relief!
