| Description: |
(See Amie's story from the WCCO News archives at http://wcco.com/local/pregnant.woman.cancer.2.1222425.html) Amie Redmond is my daughter-in-law's cousin, so I consider her family. In 2004 she was diagnosed with a partially aggressive form of breast cancer, at the age of 20. After a double mastectomy and many months of chemotherapy and radiation she was able to beat it. After 4 years in remission, Amie and Bill wanted to start a family, and in July they found out they were expecting their first baby. One week later she found out that the cancer was back, it has spread to her spine and hips. Amie is now battling Metastatic Stage 5 cancer, the most aggressive form of Breast Cancer. If you know anyone who has ever gone through this, you know that it is a hard battle. We are putting together a Benefit for her, to help with her medical bills as her medical provider is calling this a PRE-EXISTING CONDITION and is refusing to pay for her treatment. Please open your hearts so that Amie can get the best medical care she needs! With your help Amie hopes to spend as much precious time with their new baby. We would like to see as many people there that we reach, if you are unable to attend, but are willing to help, she has a benefit account at any US Bank, the "Amie Redmond Benefit Account". There will be food and live music, still working on a few things... Also there will be a silent auction, if you have something to donate, or would like to be involved, please feel free to contact the event coordinator at chrystalball@q.com. Thank you all so much and we will see you soon! |

Our prayers are with Amie and her family. I will try to make it, but it depends on work schedule. If I can't make it I will still give what money I can.

Grrr... "preexisting medical conditions" is one HUGE reason why I would tend towards voting for universal healthcare coverage. I'm happy to help in any way I can.
