Description:	Please be praying for a lady biker "Carol Chavis". Saturday night Carol collided with a guardrail on her bike and she was thrown 60 feet from impact. She is at CMC in Charlotte right now with messed up vertebrae in her neck and in her back. At this time she is paralyzed from the breast down. They are planning on doing surgery to remove pressure and hopefully she will be able to recover from this and be able to walk again. This is a local lady rider who attends all and any poker runs and benefit runs when can. Please let's all pull together in prayer and help Carol and her boyfriend James get through this tough and difficult time right now.. Update: Carol is having surgery at 8:00 am this morning 4/20/09 so let's all keep her in our thoughts today and let's remember God is good and he looks after all of us and we should follow in his footsteps as well.....Update 12:00 pm 4/20/09Dr's said the surgery couldnt have been any better that it went great. They may have to do another surgery in the morning but they are not sure yet.James is requesting no visitors today.The Dr's said there were too many people in there yesterday and she needs to rest today.He said to tell all friends they appreciate the prayers and support. Depending on the surgery in the morning we may be able to see her tomorrow......Update 4/20/09...James posted this comment today so I will put this out for everyone to read: Carol did gr8 in surgery today doc says it cud not be better as far as accoplishing what they dun she is on life support at this time but that is normal procedure for a surgery as serious as this 1 the doc says that she will be completely paralyzed from her chest down for the rest of her life I am so sorry to tell u all this I am so sad im lost for words thx for all the prayers pleese keep praying. I LOVE YOU CAROL!!!!!!!This was posted on MySpace this afternoon....Update James posted this message today....I am happy to say they took carol off of life support today i spent about 4 hrs talking with her she is in good spirits considreing her condition i am sad to say she still has very little movement at all.she still has all her mind that was not affected at all she can think and talk as good as she ever did. she does have some movement in her arms and a little in her hands we are very hopeful that she will gain much more feeling and movement in these areas pleese continue to pray and i will keep u updated.thank you all very much for your prayers and support.Carol also wanted me to tell all of you ty and she loves u all and she tells me she is ready to start the fight to recover as much as possible she is a very strong woman and i have no doubt that she will give it her all to recover. I LOVE YOU CAROL!!!!!!!!!!!!.......Update 4/24/09...I talked to James last night and he says that Carol may have to be put back on the ventilator for awhile as a precaution due to some mucus in her lungs but said she was in good spirits and she is bound and determined to fight this and beat the odds against. Carol wanted to say thank you for everyone praying for her and asked for everyone to continue to pray for her as her road to recover will be a challenge. James is also trying to set up a fund at Carol's bank so that donations can be sent to there and as soon as he gives me the information I will post it for all who want to help them out.....Update 4/27/09 I am sad to say the big picture hasnt changed carol is still paralyzed from the chest down and has very little movement in her arms.Iam happy to tell you that she is stable and her breathing has improved so their is no life support at this time.Also they have moved out of the trauma unit and into a progressive care unit so that is a gr8 first step.Carol is in fairly good spirits considering the shape she is in and the struggle she faces.In this new unit they will now let me stay all night with her i stayed last night and was able to be by her side and support her through the night.she had a good night and it sure was gr8 for me to be able to spend more than 2 hrs at a time with her. PLEESE CONTINUE TO PRAY GOD IS IN CONTROL NOW SO WE WILL PRAY FOR THE BEST AND MAKE THE BEST OUTTA WHAT WE GET. TY ALL SO MUCH FOR UR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT. I LOVE YOU CAROL!!!!!!!!!!!..........Update.4/28/09...James posted this Monday....Carol continues to breathe well on her on .she ate her first real food today she had a few bites of oatmeal.Carol also started the first step of pysical rehab today they sat her up and let her feet hang from the bed for 10 min today.that is a gr8888 start to a long road ahead pleese continue to pray. I LOVE YOU CAROL! ............Update...05/03/09....Carol continues to improve they have removed the oxygen completely she only uses it when she has a coughing spell.They hope to get Carol moved to the rehab center at the beginning of the week where they will begin to try and streghting her arms and teach her and I how to care for her.they are hoping to have her ready to come home as early as 30 days yee haaaaaaaa and praise the lord.Pleese continue to pray and we ty all for ur thoughts and prayers you are all gr88888 friends. I LOVE YOU CAROL!.....Update on Carol 5/08/09CAROL CONTINUES TO IMPROVE.Carol has started to feel some tingling and burning sensations in her legs and feet the nurses say this is a very good sign.she is off all oxygen the feed tube is gone she is eating all regular food now she doesnet even have an IV at all in her arms.They are working with her for 2 hours a day now they are sitting her up in a wheel chair for several hours a day she has got to go outside a time or 2 that really excited her.we will be having a meeting with her surgen hopefully at 6 am in the morning.Im not sure i am very ancious to see what he has to say now that their is some sensations of feeling going on in her legs (PRAISE THE LORD) IF U REMEMBER IN THE BEGINNIG THEY SAID THEIR WAS NO CHANCE THAT SHE WUD EVER FEEL ANYTHING FROM HER CHEST DOWN.Wellllllll guess what they were wrong she is feeling her legs and feet tingle and 2 times i have tickled her feet and she cackled yeeeeeeeeee haaaaaa!!!!!!!! Im not sure exactly what all this means but the way i see it it can only be good i will no more when i have the meeting with the surgeon.BUT MOST OF ALL I AM STILL HAVING MY DAILY MEETINGS WITH GOD IN PRAYER I ASK THAT ALL OF YOU CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR I BELIEVE THAT GOD IS WORKING IN CAROL AND OUR PRAYERS ARE WORKING! PLEESE CONTINUE TO PRAY!!!!!!!! I have told carol about all of the people that is helping and praying and concerned she ask me to tell you all ty and she loves you and she will NOT GIVE UP SHE ASSURES ME SHE IS IN THIS BATTLE TO WIN!!!!!!!!! TY YOU ALL VERY MUCH I LOVE YOU ALL. I LOVE YOU CAROLLLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!! update...5/12/09....I am very glad to say Carol continues to improve daily. she is gaining more and more movement in her arms everday they are setting her up daily in a wheel chair.She continues to eat a regular diet and is in good spirits.They still havent got her moved to the rehabilitation yet but only because of a over crowded sitiation.CAROL IS HAVING SOME SENSATIONS OF FEELINGS IN HER LEGS AT TIMES HER TOES WILL JERK AND A FEW TIMES HER LEGS HAVE JERKED.she still cannot control this movement but never the less thier is good signs of movement and it gets better ever day.she is also starting to have some jerking sensations in her stomach erea. we are very excited about this and so are the docs they say it is a gr8 sign that the nerves are starting to wake up.(THE PRAYERS ARE WORKING YALL PLEESE KEEP PRAYING!)God is gr88888888 me and carol pray daily and we have gr8 faith that god will be their with carol through this fight she is recovering at a rapid pace compared to what the docs said in the beginning.WOW i wish u all cud see the improvement on a daily basis as i do GOD IS GOOD! Carol wanted me to tell you all she loves yall all very much and she cant wait to see you all again.She tells me that she intends to fight for a full recovery she says she hopes to ride her new bike to the bar and drink a yager bomb with you all!! yeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaa what a strong woman she is!!!!!!! pleese continue praying!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU CAROL!!!!!!!......Update 5/18/09I am happy to report Carol is adjusting just gr8 to the rehabiltation stage.Carol still has no feeling from the chest down but does have a ton of movement going on her legs and feet jump and move around all the time this is involantary movement but the doc says that this is a good sign that her nerves are starting to wake up.Carol is learning to operate her on wheel chair and will start alot of other activities toady.She gets up ever day now she takes a real shower puts on her real clothe and shoes and goes outside.Carol is in good spirits and assures me she is ready to fight to be the very best she can be. PLEESE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR CAROL THIER IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT GOD IS TOUCHING CAROL SHE HAS COME TOO FAR TOO FAST THE DOCS SAY SHE IS AMAZING. TY ALL FOR UR PRAYERS. I LOVE YOU CAROL!!!!....Update 06/19/09Carol is sceduled to be released from rehabilitation on the 2nd of july! yeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaa will be gr8 to have her home.Carol continues to make gr8 progress she is getting stronger in her arms ever day.Carol is doing her therapy everday she is doing 75% of feeding her self she is awsome wit her wheel chair with no suprise she is the best wheel chair operator in the place graduated a 10 day class in 2 days lmao! thats my girl! Carol is in very good spirits considering what all she has been through she wanted me to tell all her friends she loves you all and cant wait to see u all again.She was hoping to make the rebel son show at the dirty water saloon but they decided to keep her 2 extra weeks which is gr8 we want her to be the best she can be when she gets out.Carol will be around at our local hangouts so u can all see her soon we hope to make the 4th of luly celebration on her pontoon see ya their!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UPDATE 7/08/09.........Carol is at home now she has been home since july 2 she i doing well so far.Carol is still working hard to learn this new way of life without movement! Carol has her ups and downs very depressed at times but very happy to be home.We are gonna do a poker run for her but havent set a date yet we are thinking maybe late august.I will post the details once we have them worked out.I wud like to ask u all to pleese keep praying for carol and her family they need a lot of prayers at this point.I wud ;like to thank you all once again for ur prayers and support they have meant alot to me and to carol yall are gr8 friends and we love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To a point she can almost feel when someone touches her lower body. She is having fun racing her wheelchair, looks forward to pushing herself in the physical therapy to move her lower limbs. Of all the people who deserve a miracle she is definitely one of those few! She has the faith & belief that she can & will walk again! Please keep praying for our girl, she is a miracle God gave to us all!Love ya'll & thank you for your prayers & compassion!

Carols still in CMC which means the bills are adding up, James and the kids can go see her more often now since they have moved her to a different room which means it takes more money to get them there daily to visit with her, which can only help her recover sooner. Thanx for those that made it to the supper. We raised $360- not bad on 2 days notice and the supper only lasted about 2 and a half hrs.thanx again!!

At this time they are not planning on any more surgery's.she is breathing good and they are taking her off of life support at noon today.We will have a poker run in the future- but right now money is needed to help James and her boys get back and forth to Charlotte, food,ect.
