Description:	For those of you who don't know, on 3/20/09 our friend littlebikerchick (Debbie) was severely burned while cooking at home. She is in the burn unit at Wake Forest Univ. Baptist Hospital here in Winston-Salem. We went to visit her on Sunday the 22nd to see how see was doing and surprise her with the banner everyone signed while attending her event and the donations we raised from her wonderful friends from BON at Easy Eddies on 3/21/09. While talking with Debbie we found out she was going to bring us some Banana Pudding and we jokingly said well if you had been fixing the pudding and not French Fries you would have been there with us. She is in good spirits and sassy as ever. Debbie has a long way to go. The nurse told us she will be there at least 20 days and most likely more. We will use the page to keep everyone updated on her progress. Free to Ride/dove49 **************UPDATE*************** Dove and I went to visit with Debbie on Wednesday,3/26 and met with her Dad and step-mom. We gave the $272 to her dad and all were very much appreciated for the kindness off the biker community...Debbie is having her first round of Surgery on Friday, 3/27, to remove the bad skin from her hands and graft new skin. She will be in a vacuum cast for at least a few days to assure the new skin takes...possibly some time next week, the doctor told us that all the skin from the bottom of her feet will be removed ( there were a good many third degree burns on her feet) and another graft will be performed to her feet..Debbies knees also were badly burned, but not as severe as her hands and feet. Her face is healing well, but there still is some blistering in some areas... Debbie will have a very long road to recovery, with the surgeries and the struggles of learning to walk well again. She will be off her fee for another few weeks, and we all know the legs get weak after being laid up for so long. She said to tell everyone hello and would welcome anyone that would like to stop by for a visit...Despite the pain and medicine she is receiving, she is in good spirits and joked around with everyone. Please keep her in her prayers and if you would like to visit with her, please contact either Denise or me and we will give you the password needed to enter the burn unit...More updates to follow...

	littlebikerchick wrote at 6/4/2009 11:50:29 PM hi eveyone i am back out of the hospital when i went this time everything in my body was trying to shut down.i gained 12 pounds of fluid which we had to get off me so all in all I had conjestive heart failure.glad my organs started to work right so I could get back home. I would like to thank everyone for all you have done.it has meant so much to me that my friends here on bon have been a great support to me durning this time

	Free to Ride and dove49 wrote at 5/27/2009 5:01:06 PM We had a benefit gathering on Saturday night at Easy Eddies in Charlotte and, though Debbie could not make the event, we raised $1300 to help with her medical expenses...her dad, Ray called us and told us he had to take her back to the hospital (Carolina Medical Center, Northeast) in Concord do to her being dehydrated and kidney problems, along with possible Gall Stone surgery...a few of us visited her at the hospital on Sunday to present the money to her and give her our support. She is in good spirits, but tired of all the hospital stays...she made it home for about a week before going back in...she is in RM 3414, if anyone would like to contact her...

	Free to Ride and dove49 wrote at 5/6/2009 5:37:53 PM I went to visit with Debbie last night and she is doing well, except for losing 10 lbs. she couldn't afford to loose...the put a feeding tube in to make sure she is getting the nutrients she needs and may still have it for a few more days...after a possible few more weeks at Baptist, she will be in an assisted living facility for about 6 weeks, to be sure that the intravenous antibiotics are done properly. She mentioned also that she will be at Easy Eddies on May 23rd for the benefit dinner we are having for her, and her dad said he plans on bringing her there on the back of his bike...her direct phone number is 336-702-5357. She is looking forward to visitors and friends to give her a call ...hope you can make it one day...Tom

	Free to Ride and dove49 wrote at 4/30/2009 9:45:44 AM We visited with Debbie on Monday...her hands look to be healing well and the bandages are off all but a few finger tips and her feet...she is off the pain medicines and is back to her normal self again, except for being a little sassy for being in the hospital for so long...she has been walking daily and doing well in the rehabilitation of her injuries, but she also has lost about 10% of her body weight...and being a small woman to begin with, that is not good...she has been moved to the Sticht Unit at Baptist Hospital and may be released as early as next week, but more likely in a few more weeks. She is wanting to attend the benefit dinner we are having for her on May 23rd at Easy Eddies, and I have a strong belief that she will be there... I hope everyone can make the dinner and show their support for Debbie...she misses everyone and wanted us to give her thanks and love to all who have been so thoughtful during this trying time of her life...Tom and Denise

She had the bandages removed and so far the surgery looks to be Successful.. She was back to her old self and fully alert and talking..She is being weened off of the pain medicines and has been doing walking therapy daily...she still has a long road ahead of her, but she wanted us to thank everyone for the wonderful outpouring of caring...Denise and I will be going back for a visit this afternoon...updates will follow...

	Free to Ride and dove49 wrote at 3/31/2009 10:28:24 PM Dove and I visited with Debbie on Monday...she will be getting the pressure bandages off her hands and feet in a few days...hopefully the skin graft took well...she was pretty out of it during our visit, but still had that sassy side come through...we brought the lap top along so she could read the well wishes from all of her friends here...and see the pics of the Easy Eddies event she organized...we were told it may be July before she is well enough to get out and do things. If anyone is interested in helping her out for a short while with taking in one of her dogs until she gets home, please let us know. 	Free to Ride and dove49 wrote at 3/28/2009 4:27:06 PM We spoke with Debbies step-mom today and both surgeries (hands and feet) were performed on Friday...She has a bacterial infection that has set in, and anyone going to visit with her will have to wear a gown and gloves. She is much more alert and remembering what happened the dreadful day...her room # has changed, so if your planning on visiting with Debbie, please contact us. Dove and I are planning on making another visit to see her Sunday afternoon...She thanks everyone for the kind words all have expressed. She ran to the neighbors home saying her home was on fire. The neighbor quickly called the fire department and rescue squad, then ran over to her home with a fire extinguisher and put out the fire. In the mean time, his own stove caught fire since he rushed out while in the middle of cooking himself. Luckily, neither home was badly damaged and is only in need of some cosmetic repairs...and a replacement stove for the neighbor. Let's all remember the kindness and quick reactions this man portrayed for our sister, and learn a lesson from him of what brotherhood is all about.
