Description: This is a place where everyone on BON can list the names of restaurants or bars that allow colors to be worn or do not allow colors to be worn. Even if you are a supporter it is very important for everyone to get envolved in this one. A month ago myself and my president were told at the door of a local sports bar that we could not wear our colors and we either had to leave or remove them. Needless to say, we left and found another bar that wanted our business. This happened at two bars in a row in Fair Oaks CA which is a suburb of Sacramento. Imagine, two veterans being told that they could not proudly display on their backs that they are members of a motorcycle club! WTF? So this is your chance to praise those establishments that are biker/patch-holder friendly or boycott the ones who are not. It does not matter where you live or where you are from...this is democracy at it's best! Write it in the comment box your experience, good or bad, and don't forget to put down the name of the establishment and it's location, city/state.

Before people start saying it's unconstitutional to allow or deny admittance to a bar, 99.9% of these places have signs stating they reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. case closed, can't fight a posted sign.

Not to pu to sharp a point on this but, according to the UN and Wikepedia: 4. Academic Consensus Definition: "Terrorism is an anxiety-inspiring method of repeated violent action, employed by (semi-) clandestine individual, group or state actors, for idiosyncratic, criminal or political reasons, whereby - in contrast to assassination - the direct targets of violence are not the main targets. The immediate human victims of violence are generally chosen randomly (targets of opportunity) or selectively (representative or symbolic targets) from a target population, and serve as message generators. Threat- and violence-based communication processes between terrorist (organization), (imperiled) victims, and main targets are used to manipulate the main target (audience(s)), turning it into a target of terror, a target of demands, or a target of attention, depending on whether intimidation, coercion, or propaganda is primarily sought" (Schmid, 1988).[15]

jstcuriuz - It is against the law and a violation of our constitutional rights to be discriminated against for our choice of clothing, wording on the clothing, or expression of opinion whether verbal or written - our First Amendment. Save our Constitutional Rights. They are being deleted one by one and modified with each law that is passed.

Toby Keith's Bar & Grill do NOT allow vests, Colors, or insignias from any MC or organization including the HOG Chapters, American Legion Riders, etc. Toby Keith does not own the bars. They have rights to the bar name only. He does not endorse this rule. He has no say in the matter. He rides motorcycles.

Funny - Canada has how many Red & White clubhouses, and they'll kick you out of the country for supporting. But here in Michigan there are no Red & White houses, and nobody says a thing if you're wearing support. Just stupid in my opinion, you should be able to wear whatever you want - it's your actions that should be what condemns you, not your choice of clothing or affiliation!

FYI just in case you are not aware... These are your Constitutional Rights..... Any person whose exercise or enjoyment of rights secured by the Constitution or laws of the United States has been interfered with, or attempted to be interfered with may institute and prosecute a civil action for injunctive and other appropriate equitable relief including the award of compensatory monetary damages The Supreme Court ruled in the case of Cohen V. California, 403 U.S. 15 (1971) that individuals have the constitutional right under the First Amendment to wear clothing which displays writings or designs. In addition, the right of an individual to freedom of association has long been recognized and protected by the United States Supreme Court Thus, a person's right to wear the clothing of his choice, as well as his right to belong to any club or organization of his choice is constitutionally protected, and persons or establishments who discriminate on the basis of clothing or club membership are subject to lawsuit.

My question how can you be a bar that accepts bikers and not colors? I own a sports bar and I'm attracting the bike crowd and what you have on the back of your leathers is your business. I respect you and you respect my staff, customers and me and we all have a great time. When you have a run with a couple hundred riders a good portion are going to be wearing colors. My experience with bikers in the last two years, is I would take 500 bikers over any other group. I have had very few problems and a lot have really helped me grow the business. So if your club is having a run, why not support the bars that let you wear your colors all the time? Now as a ASU alumni I don't even make a UofA wildcat remove their shirt. LOL Come on in and wear your colors and say hi. Mike Gavilan Peak Sports Bar & Grill New River, AZ

General News Source: kingmandailyminer.com By: Erin Taylor Posted: 09/22/2009 by: THUMPERRRR Man miffed by dress code at street drags Arizona - Kormos said event security asked him to leave for wearing Harley vest KINGMAN - A Kingman man says he was asked to leave the drag races downtown over the weekend because of his motorcycle vest. Sam Kormos, 43, said he was at the Napa Racing Kingman Street Drags VI event Saturday for about an hour when he was approached by several security guards and asked to leave because he was wearing a Harley-Davidson vest. Kormos, who is not affiliated with a particular motorcycle club, said he had not been disruptive during the event, which he was attending with his wife. He said he was singled out and publicly humiliated simply for the way he was dressed. "I've got everybody in the stands looking at me going 'I wonder what this guy has done?'" Kormos said. After being escorted out of the event, Kormos said he was approached several minutes later and told he could return, but the entire experience left a bitter taste in his mouth. He feels the incident is an extension of the harassment of motorcyclists by law enforcement and now local businesses. Security at the event was provided by the organizers. A call to their offices was not returned by press time. Sgt. Bob Fisk with the Kingman Police Department was at the event and learned that the man had been asked to leave. He characterized the incident as a misunderstanding that Harley-Davidson was a motorcycle club rather than a brand. "There was some confusion on the event organizers' part," Fisk said. Fisk added that two people wearing Desert Road Riders patches were asked to leave because of the event's "no colors" policy as determined by organizers. Those two people returned to the event wearing different T-shirts. The Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Missions, also known as GIITEM, have had a visible presence in the community for several months. Members of the task force and local law enforcement often park across the street from the weekly Bike Night event in which riders from various clubs get together and socialize. The event moved from Chuy's on Stockton Hill to the Sonic Drive-In on Andy Devine two weeks ago, after several bars and restaurants around town instituted a "no colors" policy. Kormos said riders are being run out of Kingman. "You want to run me out of town? I'll spend my money somewhere else," Kormos said.

Bikers .. wearing colors or not... are NOT the troublemakers.... but they often have to finish the business. ;) lolol Fly your flags, people!

Bottom line...I work hard for a living/money If an establishment tells me to remove my vest before I can enter, I'll take my hard earned $ elsewhere! To me its just plain disrespectful to your fellow brothers no matter what club there in and also to the American way of freedom! Now on the other hand if I was a trouble causing ass, I would expect to be denied entry. But not the rest of my brothers!

I am a USMC vet and not in an MC., but not to societys standards either. I just like to ride and be left alone. I do get pulled over on occasion. I recently was pulled over by a cat who I later saw at Creekside Bar in Santa Barbara County and he was wearing those cop club colors. Does he get pulled over or denied entry in any bar/clubs for his colors? Just a thought. Semper Fi.

If you are a Member of a Motorcycle Club there is a more then good chance that at some point you have been told you could not enter some where with your Colors! It was not because there was a dress code at the place they just do not allow MC Colors! There are many Biker Theme Bars all over the USA who follow this practice! Not only is it wrong it is also illegal! I would like to know your thoughts on this! : " The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that individuals have the constitutional right under the First Amendment to wear clothing which displays writing or designs. Cohen v. California, 403 US 15 (1971). In addition, the right of an individual to freedom of association has long been recognized and protected by the United States Supreme Court. I have been saying this for nearly 30 years: ANY Biker who patronizes a business that discriminates against other Bikers is a self destructive FOOL. The worst are the ones who selectively discriminate: Cop Club Colors=OK, HOG club colors=OK, 1% colors=NO GO. Imagine if a business hung up a sign saying "No Women, Gays, or Blacks" - The ACLU would be all over it. NO difference here, folks. IF YOU RIDE- YOU BETTER TAKE HEED - Patch or no Patch. FYI: I am not a member - never have been - and will NEVER set foot in a joint with a "NO COLORS" policy.

This is just ONE of the many Biker's Rights issues that I and my fellow members of the Monterey Bay Confederation of Clubs tries to address. Get involved with your local Confederations, ABATE and/or HOG chapters and send letters to your local newspapers, E-mail information and knowledge to ALL your riding buddies. If we don't stand together on these issues we will ALL lose our civil liberties. Bogus noise abatement laws, "stepping", no colors, cancelled rallies because of unreal "security costs"...it goes on and on. Knowledge is power and a united group stands a better chance of success in any sort of "battle". Learn and share your knowledge and experiences. Be loud and proud and realize the power of the "pen". Respects, "Hollister" Christy

In Beautiful Lake County, the Brick Tavern in Kelseyville, is very patch friendly, so is the Driftwood in Lucerne. Richmond Park in Kelseyville, is not. They pretend to be "biker" friendly until civilians show up in their high dollar boats, then all bets are off.

Imagine a soccer team after winning a game goes down to a local sports bar still wearing their jerseys to celebrate their victory. After a few too many beers, a couple of soccer players get into it with a few other fans of the opposing team. All hell breaks loose and a brawl begins between the soccer players and the other patrons of the bar. Because of this one incident, the owner of the sports bar decides to ban all sports jerseys from his sports bar. Now, as a business owner does that make allot of sense? do you really think that would happen in a real life situation? I don't think so, so why are they doing it to bikers? Answer; In some cases it's the local law enforcement and city councils who put pressure behind the scenes on these businesses to have a "no colors policy" towards bikers. What is your opinion on this subject?

[Image] Gunny Roy Gunny Roy wrote  at 8/20/2009 7:24:52 PM

I want to say thanks for everyones input, I noticed that there is a few business owners who say it's their right to refuse service to whomever they chose....(It's obvious who's pulling their strings) It's also our right to not patronize these establishments who have a no colors policy. I would even go as far as getting the word out to friends, family, co-workers, and club members not to patronize these places. Hit them in the pocket book where it counts. I also want to say thank you to all of those bars and restaurants who advertise that they are patch friendly, bottom line is, they are getting our business and allowing us as free Americans to walk into a place and not worry about someone asking us at the door to leave just because what we believe in, who we belong too, and what we ride.

Fubar, what you just wrote is what I fear will be happening all over the state because business people will over react like they apparently did in Clovis. if a club is respectful of the business and other non-club patrons then it should be the responsibility of the business owner to back the cops off. if he did not want them, the club, in there he should have posted a sign denying all colors. since he let them in he had a responsibility to defend them from harrassment. As for your lady friend she should have raised some holy hell since nearly everyone has stickers about something on their cars from chruch to God only knows what else. if the parking lot is public and subject to public law then he has no right to ask her to move. unfortunately acording to you a club was not judged by it's good conduct in public and that is unfair and wrong.

[Image] Fubar Fubar wrote  at 8/20/2009 3:13:08 PM

Just wanna to let ya'll know what happen to a lady friend of mine last nite - We went to a establishment in Clovis, Ca. (Next to Fresno) called QN4U for Hog Heaven - She had a support sticker for a 1% club - she was told by the owner to move the bike out of the parking lot cause he claims that the local law enforcement told him they didnt want to see anything connect to this club in his establishment. I called BULLSHIT - I am flying colors - granted I am not in a 1% club but a clean and sober club and I smell discrimination a mile away. I dont know if the owner was truthful or full of bullshit, but I do know this for a fact - this same club was in there a few weeks ago having dinner and kicking back and enjoying the evening, not doing anything different then what Mr.Joe Citizen would do eating at BBQ joint - except for flying their colors - Local Law enforcement shows up - and all they can do is a fuckin stare-down - and chase out half the bikers there just cause the Law enforcement made a present there. So you tell me who left because who was there??? The bottom line for me is if you gonna ask one club to not wear colors or associates not to have support items on their bikes or on clothes, then do it for all clubs - I smell Discrimination Out of respect for the club I choose to not name them - no need to - But I have alot of respect for the club

I think someone has realist misxedup with defeatist. I did not say give up but if the tactics don't change the majority will rule and that is not going to be the bikers of this state. I lived in Sacramento under ex-sheriff John Misterly when he went after bikers and i do not want to see that happen again nor do I want the public to turn its back on bikers like it did on those bikers back then.

To "Always on the Prowl": You are correct that all business owners in this country get to decide how they want to operate. This is America after all. Likewise, it is the individuals choice whether or not to patronize and establishment. It does not take a genius to figure out that discrimination against Bikers is bad if you consider yourself a biker - it is a self defeating act to spend money in a joint which discriminates against folks like you. "NO COLORS" means just that, so Cop Clubs, HOG, Veterans Clubs, Christian Clubs et all are ALL included, or should be, in that policy. IF it is a policy for ALL, then it meets the requirements of fairness per the Constitution of this Country. I have found than MOST bar owners want to pick and choose which colors are and are not allowed, which is NOT fair, and therefore illegal in my opinion.
Some may say "I am not a Gang member so this does not affect me. This is a poor position to take up because if and when the 1% clubs fall, support clubs will follow, then Vet clubs Etc until it is illegal to ride a bike at all. Sound far fetched? Think hard on it.
FYI: I am not a member of any club and never have been.

Robert, Since you brought it up. Here is the latest on the CA motorcycle smog initiative --- Thanks to the efforts of thousands of AMA members and other concerned motorcyclists, the sponsor of a proposed California law to require motorcycles to undergo periodic exhaust emissions testing has pulled the bill and it is no longer expected to be heard during the 2009 legislative session. --- Now, what was that you were saying about us rebelling and losing the fight? I agree that a few bad eggs tend to drive negative public opinion, but as one of the millions of licensed motorcycle riders out there, I refuse to sit still and allow discrimination like this to go continue. Also, let me remind you that efforts like this do succeed. Who would have thought 100 years ago that women, people of color, the handicap and even gays would have such rights. So please, spare me your defeatist attitude.

'No colors allowed' sign causes controversy North Carolina - LAKE WYLIE, S.C. -- The Knot Hole has been around for years, but a few months ago the owner put up a signs that reads, "Please notice, no colors allowed. Thank you." ~video~It got the attention of a NewsChannel 36 viewer, who asked to be identified only as "Jane." "At first looking at it I was offended, and then after that I got kind of angry," said Jane. A few days ago Jane, who is of Asian descent, and some girlfriends headed to the bar for a drink and the sign stopped her in her tracks. "Whether you are white, black, Asian, Hispanic -- it doesn't matter what race you are, just reading that sign you should be offended by it," Jane said. But does the sign mean what it says or is it saying something else? "We welcome people from all walks. That sign has nothing to do with skin color," said "Bo" Legg, co-owner of the Knot Hole. He says "colors" has to do with gangs, specifically motorcycle gangs. Each gang has a color or a patch, and most gangs would be willing to fight to the death to defend it. "I hope everybody is here to get along," Legg said. "If you're not here to get along and have a good time, I don't want you here." Concern about biker gangs went up a notch when the Hells Angels moved in several months ago, but the York County Sheriff's Office says the gang hasn't been involved in any major incidents so far. While Jane understands the bar's explanation, she said she believes the sign could be altered to make it clearer. "Hopefully people who go through the bar will think twice, maybe," Jane said. Legg said he has gotten other complaints, including one from the NAACP, but he says the group was satisfied with his explanation.

Bobby, Most of these laws are written as a knee jerk response to some isolated incidents that involve patch wearers that the rest of us suffer for. As long as we do not govern our own behavior in public the law will do it for us as you are seeing. we are never going to get the public or the ALCU on our side as long as a few ruin it for the rest of us. Keep on presenting an unfriendly image that your critcs can use against you and the public will legislate you right out of existence. you have a motorcycle smog law working its way through the california legislature right now that will probably pass. Why? While the general public hates the smog laws they have no reason to help you avoid the pain they are going through because they see you as a problem and not a friend. Bikers/motorcyclists can rebel as much as they want but in the end you will lose and even those businesses that want to serve you will close their doors to you in order to survive. A sad commentary on the times.

I am wondering how many bars in Virgina that rely on those regular dollars from the mc clubs will suffer. Not only does it screw the nc community ...it will hurt small mom n pop bars whose key sales for that week or that month come from mc world. I know a VFW hall who host MMA meets...that is how they pay rent. If it was not for bikers, they would not be able to maintain the location rental. Guess the suits didn't think of that ...then again many suits have been small restaurant or bar owners who have grow to know and respect their mc customers. I know there is a huge debate over bars n colors...but from a person in bar...train your staff right! Hire the right people with the right training.HIre security who isnt some mallrat lookin to throw everyone out who farts wrong...I've been in restaurant 20 years and bar for 10..to this day I have seen more fights between trendy clubbers and clean cut customers...I have not had any Biker bar brawls...my best customers have always been bikers and some of my worst have been the clean cut upstanding citizens who threaten s to beat down staff cus their eggs are wrong. Okay I'll stop now...coffee n politics ya now

BY: LJ James Source: AmericanBikerX.com Virginia - A LAW BANNING MOTORCYCLE CLUB COLORS IN BARS! ( IS THIS THE LAST STRAW?) There is a law in Virgina that will ban Motorcycle Club Colors in Bars. The law was originally aimed at Street Gangs but We as Motorcycle Clubs have learned even when they say its just for one group we know Its another tool they will use against Us! Even if it was just aimed at Street Gangs it still does not make it right! According to news reports Many Bikers and Motorcycle Club Members in Virgina have already begun fighting this law. If a law like this is allowed to pass in Virgina it will not be long until it is passed in other states across America! We as Motorcyclists and Bikers (It does not matter what you call yourself) have to realize fast that we are all connected! It does not matter what you ride, what State you live in or who you Support! We are all in this together. What effects Me effects you and it don't matter what you happen to think of me! When the local Bar you and your Brothers love hanging out at is told that you and all other members of Motorcycle Clubs can no longer go there or they will revoke the Bars liquor license, What then? This is no Joke my Biker Brothers, Every Month there is another new law that is unbelievable aimed directly at us as Motorcycle Club Members! We can not fight these Laws and Fight each other at the same time! In the past year they have taken the Colors away from a Motorcycle Club, We all know it is only the first and it will lead to the seizure of other Motorcycle Clubs Colors. They have paid Millions to Friends and ex Members of Motorcycle Clubs to infiltrate and make up stories about us, so they could arrest hundreds of members on fabricated Charges! They have passed Laws over the past few years (and there are more on the way) telling us what we can and can not do to our Motorcycles! Now they are telling us We can no longer go to our local Bars and Taverns! I want to know what will be the last straw? What is it going to take for us to say enough is enough, We need to work together to save what we are! The Government has taken away our rights to ride the Motorcycle we want, to wear what we want and now to go where we want ! Why are we still fighting each other? WHAT DA F*CK? There is a member profile here on BON... ... http://www.bikerornot.com/bars4bikers who represents a website called Bars4Bikers... ... http://www.bikerornot.com/bars4bikers This website not only does a pretty good job listing biker friendly bars throughout the county, but it color codes them, including those that allow colors in their establishment. I bring this up here because, it might be easier to join forces with Bars4Bikers to add, categorized and track the establishments that will and won't allow colors reported here in this forum; which, unfortunately, is not designed for this purpose. The following comes from the site's "About Us" section of the site..... Bars4bikers.com is dedicated to finding biker friendly establishments throughout the United States and the world. While we strive to keep the lists updated, we cannot guarantee that the bars are still open or patch friendly. Phone numbers are included with most of the listings, so please call to make sure the place you're headed to is still open. Bars4bikers.com does not promote drinking and riding. Please drink responsibly, and don't ride drunk. Bars that allow colors to be worn are highlighted in gray. This means that members of motorcycle clubs are allowed to wear their club insignia in the bar. Please don't act like an ass in these establishments. The life you save could be your own. This site is dedicated to the memory of Quent Rister, Larry Latham, Roger Williams, Laurie Fox, Adrian Lopez and all the riders we have loved and lost. Thanks, Bars4bikers.com

I think most of the places that are not patch friendly have had bad experiences with individual patch clubs just as Jamos wrote. but talking hostile crap is only going to further alienate those businesses and get more businesses to join them. They hold meetings as well and talk among themselves. if you want to list unfriendly businesses/bars then so be it but expect more cities and areas to go the way of richmond when some patch club takes it business into a bar/business or out on the streets. All it takes are a few jerks wearing their colors/patches and acting like jackasses in public to ruin it for everyone. And no patch club has ever brought in enough business to sustain a business on just patch holders support. And out of all the freindly businesses listed how many would last six months on just patch holder business? I think people should start figuring out how to turn the perceptions around and not continue this conflict like attitude. In the end it will be the patch holders that will lose.

I just aquired Pinks Bar and Grille on Sacramento river. The new owners Matt n Debbie are hella friendly and the first question they asked is can you get the bikers back ? I loved it. Saturdays are rock, food is hella cheap, really good homemade bbq ad standard american. They are welcome to being a strat stop or mid way point. To letting clubs use room for meet space, and get this benefits. The last girl was doing death metal with classic rock and charging a $10 cover. That aint happenin no more. You wanna do your goth kids bday party here , your grammas bday or have a man party with strippers...let us know ... we are open This Saturday is my first show there with Face Down at 2pm ..bring your bikes or boats! This alarming trend is more likely influenced by both Federal and State anti-gang laws which is not limited to 1%er clubs, 99% clubs or any patch club, but riding groups as small 3 riders who based on perception look like an organized group. Yes, this is true. The issue here is collateral to the larger issue of associating patch holders with gangs and criminal organizations. We should continue to identify establishments that turn bikers away and not frequent them AND we should also organize and fight legislation that promotes discrimination and infringes on personal liberties. Educate yourself with the facts by clicking on the graphic below or go to... http://www.mcansg.org/ Motorcycle Clubs Are Not Street Gangs!

I think this story counts in a bizarro way : 2 cars in a parking lot. Both unregistered. One is obviously unsafe and missing windows, the other has support stickers in the windows. Both are parked in alot where a gangster (not a biker-but this is Carmichael so even Slayer fans are considered thuggin it) was shot by a business owner so now the cops are on it looking for anyone who looks like they may be " affliated with the criminal element" Guess who the cop in the lot with 2 cars 2 pick from picked...the one with the skinny white girl and support stickers. Guess which car the officer parks behind, circles around the lot, hangs there for over an 1/2 hour waiting for ya Skinny white girl pretended to be talking to her man with a fever on the phone, played dumb, got a warning.Wonder what would have happened if I had my jacket on?? Moral of the story : If you shop at the plaza on Walnut and Marconi in Carmichael, Ca... watch for the cops : I guess you would say thats not exactly a friendly parking lot right now and probably for the next month ... So if thats were you get your Round Table ...call for delievery ... they were friendly and gave me the heads up about the crack down. They even put my order in llast and delayed it helpin me by time hoping this cop would move from behind my car and stop stalkin my hoopty! Thats a way cool Round Table. It's the parking lot to be weary of... watch your tail lights , tags , anything .

I use to work at The Red Lion on Arden in sacramento under a BITCH named Katie Schuaefer. Shes in sales is very mc ignorant and unfriendly. I think she is still there , but if you ever go into any hotel in Sacramento or a Red Lion and see her name...leave. I watched her book a run party for a group 1 yr before my employ, but did NOTHING for the event until a few days prior. Then shut down the party early and gave crap rooms. She was constantly mean and rude to me because I am metal and support riders...she outwardly discriminated against a group seeking benefit support...I made her life hell then quit after that( I would not have worked there if I met that BITCH first) She is the worst person I have worked for and thinks anyone with leather is getto. Very rude and snobby to anyone she thinks bikers / working class are beneath her all knowing 25 year old ass. Good Hotels that offered help to the customers who were hated on: The Capitol City Hotel is great! Management is cool and down to earth ...they don't hate . Thats Capitol 80 and Fulton. The Goodnite Inn on 50 and Power Inn are very cool .... manager will provide good rates ti walk in and groups.
