Thanks to all you who have served to Protect our Freedom ad our Rights . I just went to a dedication Sat for Soliders who didnt make it back. On Sunday a bunch of us went to a welcome Home for two young soliders who made it back home safe. Wow !!!! Anyone who has the chance to go to one .... I suggest you go what an expierence Touched my heart... I have to say i have been guilty of taking this all for granted.. Thanks for opening my eyes and reminding me and I hope we never forget! Love and Respect to All who Serve
We take so much for granted...we forget there are men and women who have fought and given all in order for us to be free. I was at work.
We thought the first was an accident.
Then when the second one hit one of the operators asked me what that ment, I told him it ment we were at war.
Then we heard about the Pentagon.
I was so mad I almost went home so I could see what was happening on TV.
The Plant Manager came out, and talked to us and said it would be OK if we wanted to go home.
Most of us stayed, and we restarted our processes.
A couple of days later they hung twenty or so flags through-out the plant up in the rafters.
Everyday when I walk into that plant and look down that main aisle I can see this row of flags down that main aisle.
I walk under the first one and look up at, I want to jump up and touch it.
I turn left and cut through the stockroom and walk under another one, I want to jump up and touch it too.
Everytime I walk under one of those flags it speaks to me like that, about that day.
I will never foreget and never give up.
I always remember to say a little prayer for them.

As a 20 yr vet 1975 - 95 .. ty an to the p[atriot guards many thanks in making sure the memorials of the our fallen brothers n sisters are respected n remain personal. Lets hope those still abroad in harms way ( in what ever manner the lives are in harms way) be returned safely n with the honor in which they serve ..

The first Flight of Honor is in the air taking vets to the WWII Memorial in DC. They will arrriving back at PTI Airport in Greenboro tonight at 8 pm. Be there to welcome them back if you can. My hats off to all vets. THANK YOU for your service.

Welcome Home Lance Cpl Larry Draughn Jr. of Fairborn, OH. He returned home to his family and friends today from Afghanistan where he stepped on an explosive and lost both his legs and several fingers. I was honored to be part of the welcome home with a great friend of mine JP who is with the Ohio Patriot Guard. 100's of people showed up to welcome home this HERO! I had the distinct privilege to welcome home the members of the Army National Guard yesterday. I am very honored to announce that all that were deployed, were welcomed home. I stood proudly as a Patriot Guard Rider to welcome these brave soldiers home to the waiting arms of their loved ones. There is something very satisfying about welcoming home the same number of soldiers you saw leave a year ago. To the Soldiers of Operation Mentor Team 9.1 Job well done, and welcome home.

I was stationed in Germany 76-79 in an tank battalion 2/37 Armaor. Being called in the middle of the night to go to the East German border and test or readiness was always uncertian. I was never in a combat zone, never in any danger, just ready to respond if we had to. Now I know many youny men & women who are overseas serving their country, they are constantly in harms way. so to ALL the proud Amercians who have stood up to be counted, past, present & future, I salute you ans keep you in my heart & prayers. To every person who has served away from America, Welcome Home. To evry person who gave all so we could be free, GOD BLESS YOU!

okay this soldier was not a marine he was an army sgt mjr,served with the triple nickel battalion,an original member,if you know of this battalion it was an all black airborne unit,alo sevedwith the 82nd airborne and 101 airborne units ,WWII,korea and viet nam,his final battle cost him his life but not before he drew the blood of his two attackers ,apparently he had fought back and now with the blood of his foes, comes dna evidence,which is good for the law ,as long as they catch them

As an old retired army guy I can tell you I appreciate all the support the troops get. I retired a few years ago, one of my last assignments was in Iraq. I spent most of my life in the army. When I came back on mid tour leave from Iraq, the welcome at DFW was overwhelming. I went to a pay phone to make a call and the lady behind the airline desk came running over to give me her cell to make the call. There was probably 50 - 100 people there to meet the plane, they didn't know anyone on it, they just wanted to say thanks. When we taxied into the gate DFW had two fire engines spraying water, a sign of honor. I still work with the army on a daily basis, after that many years it becomes a part of you. THE LAND OF THE FREE BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE.
Freedom truely isn't free and without your ultimate sacrifice, we couldn't live in the Greatest Country in the world. Thank you for all you've done, do and will continue to achieve. Much Love and Respect!

Almost all the words have been spoken for our troops. I am animate on one thing, our boys are there for us. My Uncle, my Fathers Brother was killed in WW2.Friends,and sons and daughters of friends who are over seas are always in my prayers along with everyone who is in service of our country where ever they are in the world. The media and our Government I have no respect for. If they loved our country, we would see and hear about our men and women that keep us free and safe everyday of our lives. BowHunter, I couldn't agree with you more! My grandfather fought in WWII, received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart, my uncle die in K., my father served 25 years in the Air Force and my younger brother served in Iraq. I get so tired of these bleeding hearts that don't support our troops.

I was just watching the news, and I caught part of a report on Michael Jackson. As we all know, Jackson died the other day. He was an entertainer who performed for decades. He made millions, he spent millions, and he did a lot of things that make him a villian to many people. I understand that his death would affect a lot of people, and I respect those people who mourn his death, but that isn't the point of my rant.
Why is it that when ONE man dies, the whole of America loses their minds with grief.. When a man dies whose only contribution to the country was to ENTERTAIN people, the Amercian people find the need to flock to a memorial in Hollywood, and even Congress sees the need to hold a "moment of silence" for his passing?
Am I missing something here? ONE man dies, and all of a sudden he's a freaking martyr because he entertained us for a few decades? What about all those SOLDIERS who have died to give us freedom? All those Soldiers who, knowing that they would be asked to fight in a war, still raised their hands and swore to defend the Constitution and the United States of America. Where is their moment of silence? Where are the people flocking to their graves or memorials and mourning over them because they made the ultimate sacrifice? Why is it when a Soldier dies, there are more people saying "good riddence," and "thank God for IEDs?" When did this country become so calloused to the sacrifice of GOOD MEN and WOMEN, that they can arbitrarily blow off their deaths, and instead, throw themselves into mourning for a "Pop Icon?"
I think that if they are going to hold a moment of silence IN CONGRESS for Michael Jackson, they need to hold a moment of silence for every service member killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. They need to PUBLICLY recognize every life that has been lost so that the American people can live their callous little lives in the luxury and freedom that WE, those that are living and those that have gone on, have provided for them. But, wait, that would take too much time, because there have been so many willing to make that sacrifice. After all, we will never make millions of dollars. We will never star in movies, or write hit songs that the world will listen too. We only shed our blood, sweat and tears so that people can enjoy what they have.
Sorry if I have offended, but I needed to say it.. Remember these five words the next time you think of someone who is serving in the military;
"So that others may live..."

Freedom is never free.... Remember this on Independence Day
Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who signed the Declaration of Independence?
Five signers were captured by the British as traitors and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned.
Two lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army, another had two sons captured.
Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well educated. But they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.
Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.
Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.
Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.
At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.
John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year, he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished. A few weeks later, he died from exhaustion and a broken heart.
Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates.
Such were the stories and sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education. They had security, but they valued liberty more.
Standing talk straight, and unwavering, they pledged: "For the support of this declaration, with firm reliance on the protection of the divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other, our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor."
They gave you and me a free and independent America. The history books never told you a lot about what happened in the Revolutionary War. We didn't fight just the British. We were British subjects at that time and we fought our own government!
Some of us take these liberties so much for granted, but we shouldn't.
So, take a few minutes while enjoying your 4th of July Holiday and silently thank these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price they paid. Remember: Freedom is never free!
It's time we get the word out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball games.

There simply are not enough words to express the gratitude, appreciation, and respect that I have for all veterans. Whether Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine or National Guard I thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping us free. Both my son and daughter served in the Navy. Many of their friends have served in the other branches of service to this great country of ours. Things may be rought for many people right now...but not as rough as it has been for many others who have lost their loved ones to keep us safe. That is a debt that cannot ever be repaid. God Bless you all!

I know all americans are proud of our Men and Women serving in uniform and we respect each and everyone of you for giving so much. I hope our Government will do the right thing and not turn their backs on you when you return. Our Government and the private sector should ensure that each of you has a job and compensation for any injuries or other complications that resulted from you tour of duty.
I served in the Navy...I have two other brothers that served 24 years in the Navy and another brother who served 30 years Marine Corps....My father was 24 yers Airforce....We know what it means to serve and we honor all Veterans, those who are serving now and those who gave their lives in service of this country and fighting for FREEDOM.....

I have three children active duty in the USMC. All of them are married to Marines (only one still active). My med-school daughter is married to an Airman. I've traveled the world to visit them all and stay part of their lives. I have a great deal of respect for all of them as they try to do their duty while they develop their personal lives. Words cannot describe the debt that is owed to, but will never be paid the men and women of this country that have not only given of their time, but so many with the ultimate sacrifice. In every war, conflict or in the line of duty while performing what should have been a routine training event. The point is they stepped up to make a difference and to stand for a way of life they believed strongly in. To the members of EVERY branch of the Armed Services, I salute thier honor, dedication and memories.
Of course I am THANKFUL every single day when the sun goes down, knowing I'm protected by amazingly brave & strong AMERICANS! Although we'll never meet so many of you, know you are ALWAYS thought of and prayed for. P/L/R Always! ~G-d Bless~

Thanks folks...our veterans don't get enough thanks, prayers, and praise!!! I make a point to shake their hand and thank them (words cannot express my gratitude as a single American female homeowner with toys) whenever I see one on the street in uniform! What other country can we females live this way without being frowned upon or look down on by their society? I'm NOT a geisha girl, not your slave, and I'm NOT your !@#$% baby, nor will I walk behind any man! No country...but our good ole USA!!! We are not beneath anyone...and we all know who wears the pants in this country...now don't we?

My son is a marine and in afganastan right now. I have other family memebers that have been in the service and have fought in many wars...I just want to thank them and all of our soliders out there and let them know my family does care and support them

I just got out after 10yrs, i have friends still over there, friends getting ready to go back, and friends that will forever be in my heart that never made it home. God Bless all the troops in all branches they will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

The price of freedom has been paid for in blood by our Men & women in Uniform, to all of our vets past and present thank you for your service and for what you do everyday. Those of you that are still serving that served under me, I know you have done a great job and will continue to do a great job. I still think about all of you guys. Thanks to all, always remember our POW & MIA thay are still fighting there own battles!
