Thank you to those that created this page and for giving me the opportunity to share. One of the most important things we can all do is educate ourselves in ALL forms of abuse. There are witnesses to every crime, sad thing is that most people dont realize til its too late what they had seen. We need to be able to look beyond the physical aspects of abuse and be more aware of the emotional signals these victoms are sending us, this is how they ask us for help. Fear, guilt and shame are the strongest emotions one can feel and the most difficult to break free of. There are so many that are "drowning" and being suffocated by those emotions they are unable to speak, we need to reach into those cesspools theyre in and pull them out. Be Katie's Angel here on earth and educate yourself, we need to hear those unspoken cries for help. God Bless and be safe always, Sonja

I thought this site was a tribute to a little angel who never had a chance to live a full and happy life. This site is not about bashing the SHC's and all the good work they and so many others have done to help little Katelynn's family and to keep her memories alive. If you, Gypsy are so negative about the SHC's and their hard work, then get the hell off this site and let God's little angel Katelynn rest in peace. Take your complaints and lack of spelling somewhere else. Gypsy, if you could have done better, why didn't you step up to the plate and do something positive for little Katelynn? This in response to the faceless person who feels the need to trash the SHC...this was NOT an abate organized event!!!! It WAS a group of women, who reached out to fellow human beings to give this little girl a respectful burial. And, ask NOTHING for ourselves! WE donated Our time,OUR money,OUR gas,OUR hearts, and time away from OUR familys. WE stayed in the church ALL NIGHT long with her,and WE stood guard over battered little body, that took everything the funeral director could do to make her little face pretty enough to even have an open casket viewing! WE were asked by the family to stand guard over her, and WE were asked to be her pall bearers! WE took the time to support this cause, ONLY to bring awarness to how BRUTAL this little girl died! And WE WILL continue to do so, because not even your heartless comments will stop the people who REALLY care about OUR children. YES, their are people who would try to benefit from bogus rides, but I ASSURE YOU, WE are NOT one of them. As a father of two young daughters (ages 6 & 8), I am outraged and filled with anger for this poor innocent child. My thoughts and prayers go out to Katelynn and her family. I wish I could be there for the services, but I am tied up with other things here in South Carolina. I will be collecting up some donations from my brothers & sisters and will be sending it up as soon as I can.

this is a letter I sent to redd and am sending it out to all who will be at this event on june 13th just be advised that I am just beginning to put this together so will give details as I get them. hey redd sweetie if the ride takes place on june 13 I am going to attempt to get a big ride rallied out of hogrock which is that weekend and that is where we will be that weekend if I can pull that off it will be a huge ride so will keep you informed.

I am so happy to learn that Katelynn was an organ donor. I wish I would have had the chance and choice to donate my daughter's organs. To know that a part of Katelynn lives on to help another innocent child is a wonderful feeling!

The story of little Katelynn and the events of the past week have touched my heart and has caused me to want to get involved in the fight against child abuse. I have tried to find information in my area about organizations that help fight child abuse and educate the public and raise awareness about this horrendous crime against children. I haven't had much luck finding current information so I wrote to our governor here in Michigan and have asked for her assitance in directing me to organizations that can help me, or that I can help in some way. I would like to organize a group that will do charity rides to help out in my local area. I really don't know where to start so I thought starting at the top would be my best bet.

Redd is one of my best friends and has been for years. I'm a former member of SHC and I have to tell you, I am very touched and moved by the wonderful group of ladies representing SHC today. Their activities in honoring Katelynn Stinnett has moved people around the world. I'm in Germany, and their heroic efforts are touching lives here as well. However, this event has been extremely traumatic for these heroes. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they wage their war on child abuse and child predators. It's rare to find ONE person willing to step up to take action to make a difference in the world, but with SHC, there is an entire group of amazing women dedicated to reaching out. They truely are an ELITE group of women. I'm humbled by their efforts and in awe of their dedication to make a difference in my world. There aren't words to express my thankfulness for heroes such as these. Thank you SHC!

Everytime I read about this precious little Angel, I get a tears in my eyes. I just want to take a minute to thank Redd, Cricket and the rest of the SHC for the love that yall showed this child. I feel like each of you and many of us took this baby into our hearts for keeps and I know that I will not rest until those responsible for Katelynn's pain on earth receive their just punishment.

If everyone who cares about what happened to Katie, and to other children as well, write a letter to Mitch McConnell, tellhim how you feel about this little girls tragedy, and urge him to inforce stiffer sentence's on abuser's and predators. Overall Child Well-Being In the past several years, the United States has enjoyed many positive strides in economics, technology and other matters. The Annie E. Casey Foundation tracks standard indicators of child well-being by measuring educational, social, economic and physical benchmarks. Unfortunately, over the past ten years we have either not made much progress or have worsened in a number of areas (Current figure is listed in parenthesis): Percent of Children in Poverty (20%) Percent of Low Birth Weight Babies (7.3%) Teen Birth Rate (36/1000 females ages 15-17) Juvenile Violent Crime Arrest Rate (507/100,000 youths) Percent of Teens Who are High School Dropouts (10%) Percent of Teens Not Attending School and Not Working (9%) Percent of Families With Children Headed by a Single Parent (26%) Rate of Teen Death by Homicide, Suicide or Accident (65/100,000 teens)1 Child abuse and neglect rates have also continued to climb. Did you know that: In 1997, an estimated 3 million children were reported as alleged victims of child maltreatment. The total number of reports nationwide has increased 41% since 1988. Over 1 million children were confirmed victims in 1997. When asked to identify the top problems exhibited by families reported for maltreatment, states most frequently named substance abuse, poverty and economical strains, parental capacity and skills, and domestic violence.2 Over 1,000 child maltreatment fatalities occurred in the 50 states and the District of Columbia in 1996, with children under 4 accounting for 76% of these deaths.3 68% of the children who died due to maltreatment in 1995 were killed by their parents, while only.1% were killed by strangers. In 1995, 486,000 children were placed in out-of-home care, such as foster homes and facilities. This is up from 280,000 in 1986.4 The Cost of the Child Protection System In 1995, federal and state spending specifically on child welfare programs exceeded $11.2 billion. This includes investigations, casework services, foster care and adoption assistance. The lion's share of these funds are spent on out-of-home care, such as foster care placements.5 Per capita state expenditures for these child welfare services span a wide range from $99.30 to $15.12.6 Current Focus on System Failure In 1991, the National Commission on Children asserted: "If the nation had deliberately designed a system that would frustrate the professionals who staff it, anger the public who finance it, and abandon the children who depend on it, it could not have done a better job than the present child welfare system.7" One cannot follow the national news without being confronted with a chilling story, either accusing the CPS system of blatant incompetence resulting in inaction and the death of a child, or gestapo-like intrusion into the lives of innocent families. Meanwhile, caring child protection workers by and large do the best they can with overwhelming caseloads, insufficient resources and the expectation that they will bear the burden placed on them by society to protect these innocent victims.

All I have to say about this past weekend is, it was the most heart wrenching expereance I have ever witnessed! It was an event that will forever be burned in my memory. Not only the little angels face and how it all happened, but also, being so PROUD to have been there to support the sisters of SHC and hold an all night vigil in the church, and stand as Honor Guard beside them. I have never been so PROUD and moved to tears, when I seen our president of SHC, lying on the floor, in front of the casket, where she slept all night, and other members sleeping in the pews on each side of her! It is with the most heart felt Honor and Respect, that I call these ladies my friends, and most of all, MY SISTERS!

My Heart goes out to Katelynn and all of SHC. my family and myself have lit a candle for Katelynn and will keep it burning throughout. this little girl has touched our hearts so much. we never knew her but feel as though we do through Red and the rest of SHC. if there is anything my family can do to help further please let me or Devils little Angel or FallenAngel(my daughters) know. as for the sob who did this, death by hanging isn,t good enough. i pray justice will be done.

I was able to take my lunch hour at 1 yesterday and said a prayer and be with you all in heart. My heart still grieves and tears still flow over this. Even though Little Katelynn is in Heaven now, this will not be put to rest until Crabtree is in prison!! SHC you were Gods angles here on earth helping watch over this little girls' funeral. I just can not thank you enough for taking up this cause!!! Katelynn will always live in my heart.

I SAW HER, I stood honor guard with my sisters 24-7 sat. nite and thru the funeral. so some of us DO speak of that which we know.

I know what you mean Green Eyed Lady, it is in situations like this that we question God and may even perhaps blame God for allowing things like this to happen. But God didn't do this to little Katelynn, Brian Crabtree did this and God is a God of free will, he does not control people or their actions. God loves little children and I am so sure that as he was seeing this happen to this little girl it hurt him far more than how this has hurt us humans. It is so hard for us to understand how children are taken from us and why, for what reason? That we may never know. When I was 15 yrs old, my mother had a baby, a little girl at the age of 35 yrs old. My sister only lived 8 days and died. It was not from SIDS, or abuse or anything that anyone had done to her. I was at the age where she very well could have been my child and I took care of her during her short time, I did all the feedings, etc. I loved her like she was mine, I even got to name her. She quit having bowel movements and her hands were cold and her lips were turning blue, my mom & step dad took her into the doctor and he couldn't find anything wrong her and sent them home. Ultra sounds, etc were just entering the medical world at this time. Well she just kept getting worse and wouldn't quit crying and it was a cry of pain. I told my mom there is something wrong with this baby and you need to take her to the emergency room. They did and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with her either. They had no idea is all they could determine is she wasn't getting enough oxygen. By "chance" their were a team of pediatric surgens from Denver there who were introducing ultra sound to the hospital and used it on her. They found that there was a pinch in the main valve to her heart and it wasn't puming enough & she wasn't getting enough oxygen to her brain. They then determined that she had gone for so long without enough oxygen that she would be a vegetable and with her vitals, heart rate, so on they couldn't even do surgery on her. So they had to let her die, sufficate to death and not do anything about it, can't do anything about it. It took several hours before she passed. When my mom & step dad finally got home from the hospital, I met them at the door and asked where she was and they told me what happened. My mom completely shut down which left me to take care of everything, removing all of her items, etc. It was very hard!! I asked the very same question, Why God? How can you let this sweet new baby die this way? There are some things I guess we just aren't suppose to know. But there is a reason for everything and I just trust in that and know that she was a blessing for a short time.

I will be at work today but I will be with you all in heart and spirit while you are laying this child to rest. May Gods Holy Spirit give you all strength & comfort on this day.

I try to be understanding about what makes people do the things they do. Murderers, rapists...what causes people to be so ill and to commit such evil crimes? I can't imagine the lives they have lived in order to make them so ill. But I still, in all my understanding, cannot fathom how people can be so sick as to hurt precious innocent children in this manner. The vision I get of what this poor child, and so many more like her, suffered, is heartbreaking and beyond words. My heart cries for abused children everywhere. Maybe the perpetrator himself was abused and raised with so much hatred that he knows no different. Is that any excuse? We need to do all we can do to stop the cycle. We need to stop the abusers from raising future abusers. But, how do we do that? What can we do? We need to get involved locally and make our voices heard. We need to crack down on these abusers and stop the cycle! Children are supposed to be happy and innocent and enjoying life to it's fullest. Why is this kind of abuse allowed to continue? You know it happens all the time. These children need to be heard. We all need to open our hearts and our eyes and ears and see and hear them. I will be checking in my area for organizations that are involved in such causes. I ask that you all do the same. Get involved...get educated...stop the abuse...now!

Tears come to my eyes when I read about this tragedy. I have two girls and was hit with a heavy sense of connection to Katelynn as we share a common date - my birth and her re-birth December 3rd. May we all remember that life is all too short and rejoice in our blessings and thank God for our relationships daily.

BABY SITTER CHARGED WITH MURDER By Steve Lannen - slannen@herald-leader.com The mother of a 2-year-old who was raped and killed doesn't think she will ever understand the man accused of the crime. "I don't think you can ever get into a sick person's head like that. I've been trying to figure it out," said Angela Johns. "I'd like to look at him and ask him why, but I know I wouldn't get the answers I need." Katelynn Stinnett, with her father, Daniel Stinnett, and her mother, Angela Johns. Funeral information Visitation is 6 p.m., Saturday at the River of Life Church of God, 757 Wilderness Road, Lexington. It is open to the public. Funeral is 1 p.m. Sunday at the church and are open to the public. Burial will follow at the Clintonville cemetery in Bourbon County For further information call Ellison Funeral Home of Williamsburg, (606) 524-1988. Her daughter, Katelynn Stinnett, died earlier this week of injuries allegedly caused the week before by Brian Crabtree, 18. Police say Crabtree raped and dropped the toddler from a height of several feet inside a Lexington apartment they had just moved into with Katelynn's father, Daniel Stinnett. In an interview on Friday, Johns, 24, described Stinnett, 25, as a good father trying his best and said Crabtree never gave her a reason not to trust him with her young son and daughter. On Friday morning, Fayette County prosecutors charged Crabtree with murder. At an earlier arraignment, Crabtree entered a plea of not guilty to assault and rape charges. He is being held on a $250,000 bond in the Fayette County jail. Six years ago, Johns met Stinnett at the Thornton's gas station on Winchester Road. They quickly became a couple and married, living in London before moving back closer to family after Stinnett lost his job there earlier this year. They lived in the Turfland mobile home park in southern Bourbon County, also where Crabtree and his family lived. In June, Johns and Stinnett separated. "Daniel just wasn't ready to settle down," Johns said. "We're best friends. We just couldn't be together as a couple." After Johns moved out, Crabtree moved in and took on part of the three-bedroom mobile home's rent. Soon after, a car wreck and other financial setbacks made it hard for Johns to care for the kids. Stinnett said he would take the children, and Johns took them every other weekend. Crabtree watched the kids when Stinnett worked. Johns said she had no problem with Crabtree watching them. I'm not normally a violent person, but anyone that can beat, rape, and sodomize a two year old child should be tortured in the same manner over and over again, every day, every night for the remainder of his life. Killing him would be too damn easy!

Good morning everyone. First I need to correct a couple of things. I first heard about Katelynn's tragic death on an 11:00 newscast and immediately designed the graphic and event flyer using information from the news. Some of it was incorrect so I want to make it right. Little Katelynn wasn't 3, she is only 2 years old and the spelling on her graphic is incorrect. Katelynn is the correct spelling according to the funeral home. Please understand that I didn't use the incorrect spelling or misrepresent her age intentionally and please stop messaging the girls of SHC and myself with rude remarks about it. The only thing we have tried to do is to honor this little girl. I also want to apologize for not answering a lot of your emails. To give you an example of what we have been dealing with, I logged in to find 348 messages and 74 friends requests this morning. I'll eventually get to all of them, but for now, my priority is Katelynn's funeral. Please understand. Many of you have asked about becoming a member or support member of SHC. Please go to my page, on the left side under groups you will find SHCVCCR Prospects group. Please read the bylaws posted in the comments section. If you still have an interest in SHC introduce yourself in the comments section and members will begin contacting you next week after returning from the funeral. In speaking with Katelynn's mom yesterday, she requested two things for the tombstone that SHC along with your contributions will purchase. On the front of the stone, she asked that, "fallen angel" be printed and on the back, an engraved picture of Katelynn and her brother because Katelynn called him her best friend. I think it'a a beautiful idea. The funeral home owner wasn't able to upload the video to email last night, so he's going to make me a copy to bring to me at the funeral and I will upload it and get to you upon returning Monday. SHC will be waiting to escort Katelynn's mom into the chapel for family visitation and just before public visitation, Katelynn will be pinned with an honorary SHC pin and BON pin. SHC will be offering "In memory of Katelynn" patches. So far we've been able to find them in lots of 100 for $300.00 and will sell them for our cost @ $3.00 each plus shipping. As an FYI, the LEX-18 11:00pm news says that the visition is Saturday starting at 6pm and the funeral is Sunday at 1pm. They are both being held at the River of Life Church in Lexington. I have to say that I have never heard of this church in the almost 30 years I have lived in Lexington so I can't give a location or directions. Folks! Please pause... Innocents are hurt each day, and if the facts bear this out it is indeed a tragedy, deserving our support and prayers and generosity to balm the wounds of the survivors of this atrocity. But... So far, I see at least 4 spellings of Katelynn. I have found evidence of at least one fraudlent attempt to make money off this event. LET US NOT BE A MOB!!! Let us aspire to a higher purpose. Let us be support in the face of atrocity, to those suffering from loss unimaginable, surely. But let us be aware of the capacity for the combination of distance and technology to sway us to vent our spleens on one particular cause rather than to focus our efforts on preventing similar tragedy next door. In the ardor of my bretheren and sistren facing this tragedy I think of how many I have treated personally, as a clinical psychologist, suffering from rape, abuse, criminal dehumanization, though not fatal,over the many years of my practice. It is not enough to demand vengence. It is not enough to raise money. Solving the problem is enough, but we do not yet know how to solve the problem. But... We know how to begin... We begin with community. We begin with love. We begin with an awareness of others outside our nuclear family, and even our extended family. We involve ourselves in the mentoring of those less fortunate than ourselves, whether financially, educationally, spiritually emotionally, or otherwise impoverished. Life is hard, less hard here than in many countries. Read "Three Cups of Tea" if you need a reference point. In addition to your outpouring of grief, make an attempt to improve the life of one other. One other person with whom you have an acquaintance, who is still living and suffering. For if we reduce the suffering of others, we might yet save others who might befall the fate of young Katelynn.

I trully wish I could be there. I will keep her and her family in my prayers. I lost a young granduaghter I know what it is like to lose a little girl in the family. But I have no idea what losing someone to such senseless violence is like. My heart goes out to the family. God Bless us all we need it.

I obviously can't make the services but will send a good donation. While all the thoughts are good and needed they come after the fact. These people who do these things cannot and will not be cured. This is how they are. You can bet everything you will ever own that this wasn't his first victim. Maybe the first that died but not the first. The state sends molesters to jail, put them in a PC unit, give them a TV and three hots and a cot. They get half time, (in California), get out and do it again. Every once in a while they accidentally hit the mainline and justice is taken care of. Write your Congressmen, Senators, Mayors, Prisons and Parole Boards. These people should never see the streets again after conviction of any sex crime. I too feel terrible for this little girl.

Thank you all so much for the beautiful comments on the little girl going through the gates image. I wish I could remember where I found it and give credit where credit is due. It is a beautiful and heart touching image. From now on when I find an image I like I will note where I found it and who's it is. As far as the little miracle you witnessed last night Reaper, Tink, and Outlaw...I believe you. The night our daughter died, my Dad was driving to our house and he missed the turn onto our road. My Mom asked what was wrong. He pulled over and explained to her that our daughter had just been sitting on his lap and said "See Grampa, I'm OK." He was never a believer in that sort of thing...but he is now. During the funeral for our little daughter it was bitter cold with dark clouds and the wind was blowing hard...almost horizontal...with freezing rain and snow. On our way to the cemetary I noticed a little break in the clouds and the sun was just peeking through. The closer we got to the cemetary the bigger the break got and the brighter the sun shone. It looked like it was right over the cemetary! By the time we got there, the clouds had opened up just enough so that the sky was blue and the sun was shining down on us from directly overhead. I will never forget it and I know everyone who witnessed it will never forget it either. It was like she was there to let us know that she was well and happy and that we should carry on and be happy too. Acts like the one perpetrated on little Katelyn are so incomprehensible to me and makes my heart cry. When we lost our daughter I remember saying to the reverend that I was so angry at God and I did not understand how He could take such beautiful innocent children from this earth and let so many evil people live. The reverend told me he did not believe God took our daughter. He said that metal hitting metal took her. A car crash took her....and that God does not control all that happens in this world. But, now that she was gone from this world, she was with him and was to fill a special purpose. I am still not sure what I believe...but I know what I saw on that day and I don't believe it was a coincidence. Rest in peace little Katelyn....and please hug my little Dani for me! She can show you around...she's been there a while.

This is incredibly sad and I know I should be forgiving of Caitlyn's abuser. But I find it hard not to feel he should be beaten as many times as there are comments posted here regarding her abuse and subsequent death. There is some controversy about the accused not being the abuser so I'm praying that the right person is located and sentenced to rot in prison with the general population and not in solitary confinement for the rest of his days. The death sentence would be too kind of a punishment for what he's done.

I'm being bombed with messages from BON members and media wanting to know about SHC and how we began. I'm sending all of you the same letter sent to them and hope it helps you understand how we came to be and gives you a better understanding of the women I'm so very proud to call my sisters. I'm still awaiting the final funeral arrangements for Katelynn and will forward them immediately upon receiving them. I founded SHC, Steel Horse Cowgirl Veteran & Childrens Charity Riders last year after searching for a club that permitted women to join as members and play an active role in organizing events to benefit the community. My attempts to find such a club failed because most riding clubs and motorcycle clubs want women as eye candy perched on the back seat with a guy doing the driving or they weren't active enough in trying to enhance the lives of others. My inspiration for SHC came from my 11 year old daughter's efforts in aiding hurricane Katrina survivors. I began talking to local women about starting an all women's riding club that would benefit our communities and we grew from there. SHC is an all women, non-profit ogranization that benefits Veterans, disadvantaged children, and families in crisis. We don't sit and wait to be asked to get involved. We actively go out into the community seeking those in need and then organize and plan functions and events to assist them. Not all women are accepted as members of SHC. We pride ourselves in being a group of ELITE women, dedicated to serving the needs of others. There is a strict process involved. Women interested in SHC are considered as "prospects". During this phase, officers and members get to know them and access their character, integrity, and honor. If we feel they are worthy of being a part of SHC they move into the "probate" phase which lasts a full year. Once a woman is accepted as a probate, they are subjected to a criminal background check to ensure they have no former nor current criminal charges of abuse/neglect of any kind towards a child or incapacitated minor. This process is repeated yearly for every member of SHC and is mandatory to ensure the safety of the children our organization is involved with. Once the "probate" has served as such for a year, the officers and membership vote on her as to whether or not she can represent SHC with the same integrity, honor, and dedication SHC was founded on. I was wondering the same things Kimberly. We haven't seen much mentioned about her family other than her Dad and Grandmother. It breaks my heart to think that this poor innocent child may have had a hard life the three short years she was on this earth, and what she may have suffered before her little life was taken in such a violent and disgusting way. The system definately needs to take a look at how they handle things and work to make sure children are placed in safe and healthy environments. They have no choice....they have no voice.

Apparently the news reports on television from the father's family requesting assistance is an attempt to profit from Katelynn's death! Dad isn't a dad, he's a sperm donor at best and is facing charges himself in the abuse and murder of Katelynn and is a convicted Child Predator! The funeral home is covering the cost of the casket, vault, and funeral. Unfortunately we have some sad news to report. The child in the case below has now died as a result of the abuse she suffered at the hands of Brian Crabtree who admitted to sexually abusing the toddler and then dropping her on her head, knocking the girl unconscious. There is some confusion as to whether the child passed on Tuesday or Wednesday, however the death has been confirmed. We expect the charges - as listed below - will be re-evaluated by prosecutors soon and likely upgraded to manslaughter or murder.

We can only hope that hell reserves a special section where the ass-burning coals burn bright for twisted, toilet fodder like this. We're not impressed with his 'change of heart' not-guilty plea after lawyering up. Police have been very tight lipped thus far on the case, so PLEASE, if any family members can shed some light on the little girl's condition, please let us know. The only reports we have thus far is that the injuries to the child were graphic - and that the little girl was unresponsive when emergency personell arrived. We are VERY concerned about this case! Lexington, Kentucky (The Weekly Vice) -- Brian Matthew Crabtree, an 18-year-old Kentucky man has been charged with rape and assault on a three-year-old girl. According to police, Crabtree has been charged with first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and first-degree assault after he allegedly admitting to police that he attacked and raped a three-year-old toddler. Police say Crabtree also admitted to dropping the child several feet to the floor. According to police, officers were called to an apartment complex off Cummins Court in Lexington where they found an unresponsive child who belonged to Crabtree's roommate. Police haven't released many details about what exactly took place, but said the attack likely occurred sometime between late Tuesday, early Wednesday morning. Authorities described the toddler's injuries as severe, including head trauma and multiple injuries to other parts of her body. The child was originally taken to St. Joseph East Hospital, but was then transferred to UK hospital. As of Thursday, news of the little girl's condition has not been released. Crabtree was booked into the Fayette County Detention Center. He appeared in court Wednesday afternoon, where he pleaded not guilty to the charges - despite his early admission of guilt, according to court documents.

A child, brought to UK Hospital the day before Thanksgiving, has now died and the man responsible will be charged with murder. 18 year old Brian Crab tree is currently sitting in jail for the assault and rape of a three year old girl, but that could all change on Friday when Crab tree will formally be charged with the girls murder. The toddler was brought to UK Hospital with life threatening injuries on November 26Th. Police say the child has bruises on her body and she'd been raped and sodomized. Police then went to an apartment in the Cardinal Valley area and arrested the 18 year old Crab tree. Police say he'd been living with the girl and her father. An investigation is ongoing to see if the father might also be charged in connection with the abuse and death of the child. Now at least one thing is clear, says the County Prosecutor, Crab tree's charges will be amended to murder. 27 NEWS FIRST attempted to reach the family at the apartment, but the property manager says the father paid December's rent and moved out of the apartment.

In my career I'm involved in the worst of the worst when it comes to child abuse and even though you always hear that one "gets used to it" believe me when I say...I have never and will never get used to the trauma I see every day and little Caitlyn's story is as horrific to me today as my very first case was years ago. Distance makes it impossible for me to attend on Sunday and the snowstorm here makes it impossible for me to ride in her honor but my heart, thoughts and prayers will be with her and her family...as they are now.

Deeds like this sicken me to near death------I pray to the powers that be to bring peace back to Caitlyn's family, and I also pray to the powers that be that the person who performed this deed have it done to him non-stop for the rest of his days here on earth. I commented earlier but I just read the news article, I just can't get this off my mind!! We as adults and parents need to do more to help protect our kids. This just makes me sick!!! I wish I could be there to help in any way I can besides donating. Having 2 little grand daughters this really hit home and could never imagine anything like this happening to them. I ran a daycare/preschool for 12 yrs and had to testify on more than one occasion in regards to child abuse cases. This happens way to often!! Please let me know of any new news on this.

As a Social Worker, grandfather and biker, I am totally outraged by the violence that has befallen this little angel. I hope that whoever is responsible for this cowardly act is punished to the full extent of the law or outside the law would work as well. I know the heartache and anger of losing a child. We lost our little girl at the age of 5 to an accidental death. The pain is indescribable...I cannot even imagine the depth of the pain of losing a child in such a senseless and horrendous manner as this. My heart will be with you all as you ride and honor little Caitlyn, and my heart aches for her family.

Oh my God my heart is breaking over this news! Our precious little ones should never have to go through such horrific ordeals!! They are but helpless, little innocent children. Thank you for honoring this precious little life!!

Katelynn's grandmother has asked me to convey her sincere gratitude and appreciation for the love, honor, and respect that we are showing her grand daughter It is with great honor and humility that SHC accepted an invitation from the funeral home to stand as honor guard over Katelynn's casket during visitation throughout the funeral and then lead the funeral procession. SHC Officers will serve as pallbearers. We are asking that any biker wanting to fall in line behind us please do so to help honor this little girl. Visitation is Saturday in Williamsburg KY with the funeral following on Sunday. The funeral director will be contacting me with the time for both when her body is released to him tomorrow and it will be posted ASAP. Every 30 minutes two new members of SHC will take position at the head and foot of Katelynn's casket, each facing the other over her body. Please dress in full leathers for this Honor Mission. There will be pink and yellow ribbons available as arm bands. The pink in honor of Katelynn and yellow in hopes that our politicians and lawmakers stiffen the penalties against child predators.
