Adopt a soldier. They need our support and a care package here and there. You can correspond w/ them and let them know how much they are appreciated with your words and an occassional box of supplies and goodies. Please help. They are giving more than we will ever know. It is the least we can do to show our support.
Thanks to all who have served, and are serving now! On my son's last deployment to lraq, his father got cancer, and passed away 10 days after he got back to Germany. This deployment his Grandfather suddenly passed away 2 weeks into the tour. l'm sure my son would appreciate any cards or care packages anyone would like to send. Rank has been deleted off of his address due to the Army's concerns about terrorism. Dormer Jeff, 110th Trans Co, JLTF 57th, APO AE 09366

I come from a long line of a Military family. My ex-husband was in Viet Nam, and has cancer for the 2nd. time. He needs a kidney transplant. My son was in the Army in Desert Storm..I know what our young Americans and their families are going through. I would love to write to some of our soldier's, male or female. How do I do this? Shake & Bake...aka..(Tina)
My son is serving in Afghanistan for the next 7 months. Cards and letters are great! I would also like to adopt someone who needs a MOM too! Pray for our troops!
Last year I was happy to just send cards for so many who needed them.
This year I am proud to send whatever they might need.
My nephew is still in the Army. You have my support for sure!

Just registered to adopt a solder, with oldest daughter being AF and been in Iraq, and Korea I understand how much she looked forward to getting letters from home and care packages.. Got to support our Troops and let them know We love them and support them... Godspeed ~ Kim
We sent a package to a "Soldier" we adopted and when we got a letter from him today he said he had no family and never thought anyone would ever care about him enough to send him any mail....so this is a real blessing and it does touch there hearts,
At a time when our president and other politicians tend to apologize for our country’s prior actions, here’s a refresher on how some of our former patriots handled negative comments about our country...B
JFK'S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60's when DeGaule decided to pull out of NATO. DeGaule said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.
Rusk responded "does that include those who are buried here?
DeGuale did not respond.

When in England, at a fairly large conference, Colin Powell was asked by the Archbishop of Canterbury if our plans for Iraq were just an example of empire building by George Bush.
He answered by saying, 'Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.'

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American. During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying 'Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims.. What does he intended to do, bomb them?'
A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly: 'Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply emergency electrical power to shore facilities; they have three cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck. We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?'

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S., English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, 'Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?'
Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied, 'Maybe it's because the Brit's, Canadians, Aussie's and Americans arranged it so you wouldn't have to speak German.'

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE...
Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.
"You have been to France before, monsieur?" the customs officer asked sarcastically.
Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.
"Then you should know enough to have your passport ready."
The American said, 'The last time I was here, I didn't have to show it."
"Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France!”
The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard look. Then he quietly explained, ''Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn't find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to."

My son is an Iraqi vet, went in right after 9/11. He is home with me but not the young man that left me. I did the care packages for him, but also made sure that I included all those that were in his unit as well. You would be surprised how many men and women go over there and are just forgotten, or just go because they have no one or nothing else. This is just the best idea. Thank you for doing this my friend.
Getting mail from home or "Care Packages" has always been a great moral booster. BTW, I'm not up for adoption BUT, you can take me in and take care of me :)
My son is in the Air-Force, since 1996. I am so proud of him and the millions of other sons and daughters, out there putting their lives on the line, so we can sit here and write on this web page. So let's get together, reach deep and wide, and show those sons and daughters, that we support them and Love them, and luv the GOOD OLD U.S.A.
my 19 yr old is in the marines now since oct 2008.i am very proud of my boy n always wear my marines dad hat in support of him as all of us should support our soldiers/children.its a big commitment on they're part.
My son is a US Marine. I know how much care packages meant to him especially while in Iraq! I always sent extras for guys that got nothing. It is very surprising what kinds of things they "NEED". I cant wait to help out! Check at the post office they will give you FREE flat rate boxes that can be shipped anywhere in the world at no matter what they weigh. ($9.10 I think is all for shipping) I found out about these after sending boxes of batteries to my son and all his buddies.($60 to ship!) So much cheaper!!! Means you can spend more on goodies!
Adopt A Platoon & Soldiers Angels- they give back a little for all that we as a Nation recieve. Please- just writing a letter can bring them cheer when nothing else can. Sign up!! THANKS for ALL THEY DO! Prayers xox

Actually I've been doing this for quite some time, people I know in person (I live close to a huge army post and some of my friends are in the sandbox), and also "adopting" one I didn't know. It's just plain wonderful to be able to actually DO something for them.... as little as it seems for us, it does mean a lot for them... :-)
Very good org. called my heart supports the trooops visit at mhstt.com, my nephew Evan 1st Marines is on 4th tour (3 Iraq, 1 Afghanistan) am proud veteran too!
Thanks for the info i am going to adopt one right!!And Kelly you are exactly right about only 2 defining forces have died for us we should do something for them and at least let them know we do care about them while they are fighting for our freedom!!
Only 2 defining forces have ever offered to die for you....Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'!!!
“To get something you never had, you have to do something you never done. When GOD takes something from your grasps...He’s not punishing you; but merely opening your hands to receive something better!!”
“The will of GOD will never take you where the Grace of GOD will not protect you”
GOD BLESS AMERICA n GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS!!! N WE JUST CAN'T DO ENOUGH 2 SHOW OUR GRATITUDE 4 THEM!!! AM BLESSED 2 B A PART OF THIS GROUP, N WILL PASS IT ALONG, N DO ALL THAT I CAN!!!
