I am upset because my parents of 86 are in a mess cause the president is changing all the insurance, so insurance company's are raising there prices to where seniors can't afford it!! i hear a report on the radio that claims hundreds of thousand of bailout dollars going to colleges to do studies on issues like..why teenage boys and girls hookup and a few other equally silly studies. with so many houses in forclosure...how about really bailing out some hard working americans that got caught up in big business bs. and, i think this is insanity, i hear obama wants to put another man on the moon by the year 2015. imagine what that will cost! how many people could be fed..housed and put back to work between now and then if that money was being funneled properly. i dont know...aren't there still people homeless in new orleans??

My personal belief is that as long as the average American parent neglects teaching their children our culture as it was designed by this countrys founders, as well as the documents that (at one time) defined us as a nation (ie. The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution of the "United States." The Articles fo the Confederation, etc.) and quit giving a free hand to the educational bodies that play a large part in molding young minds by force feeding them with socialistic ideologies, political correctness and other overly extreme liberal views, then we are doomed to be remembered as the once great nation of the United States of America. No one takes the time to study or teach history (real history) anymore so therefor no one learns from the mistakes of past civilizations, such as the Roman empire (who by the way was destroyed from the inside by their own hand just as America is being destroyed today). The mindset of many parents is that as long as the kids have their cell phone and their X-box, and are leaving me the hell alone, and as long as their grades don't bottom out (can't tell ya what the hell they are learning but hey,at least their grades are good) then the world around me is just peachey. Self serving trial lawyers and career politicians are dragging the U.S. down a path that will be un-reversable without future generations having the mental tools needed, as well as the backbones to use them against a government bent on the destruction of our personal liberties at any cost in the name of "fairness". We need to teach our kids our history and heritage, quit putting them in time out and bust their ass when it is needed, teach them there is a difference between a hand up and a hand out, that everyone starts out their life with nothing but potential and that they are just as responsable as their parents to take an active hand in acting on and expanding their potentials. That everyone is responsable for their own actions both positve and negative. We need to teach them that nothing is owed to us but a chance, if you don't work hard to earn your position then you don't "deserve" a spot on the team.

I figured more people would have learned by now they have been giving our country away for years that is why lots of people I know have been having firearms and amo put back in special places for years. It has gotten to the point that in order to run for office you need a good pot of money. Your suppose to have 'name recognition'. I am very Pro America. I fly my flag, I support our troops everywhere, I pray safe return home to each and every one of them. I speak and understand ENGLISH only, and I am perfectly content with it, I never owned any slaves and I won't apologize for it. My Pledge of Allegiance has GOD in it, I have the righr to bear arms (and I utilize this right), I try to raise my kids to value these things and continue living the same simple life I live. I really feel sorry for my precious grandbabies to have to grow up in this Country if the current struggles continue or even get worse. The only relief I have in all this is the promise of the Lord Jesus that this will pass one day. I am by no means a model Christian, but I do know that this is all temporary. Our country is in trouble and, in my humble opinion, needs much PRAYER... If we, myself included, would spend as much time PRAYING for our country and its leaders as we do posting complaints about it, all would be better. I believe our elected officals regardless of what level of public service they are elected need to get back to being true statesmen as opposed to a career of lifetime politics. This is kinda funny, and then again, kinda not... Joe, the average worker says; Like a lot of folks in this state, I have a job.. I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes as it sees fit. In order to get that paycheck, I am required to pass a random urine test with which I have no problem. What I do have a problem with is the distribution of my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have to pass a urine test to get a welfare check because I have to pass one to earn it for them? Please understand, I have no problem with helping people get back on their feet. I do, on the other hand, have a problem with helpi ng someone sitting on their lazy butts, doing drugs, while I work. . . . I liked an email that I received and thought it had some validity; therefore, being the vocal one and loving the fight for fairness, I added some to it and sent a letter to Dick Durbin - our Illinois Senator. I believe that if you make something real rather than just an email that everyone passes along between each other griping about this or that and shove it in front of those of whom can actually change anything - well, then just maybe we can make a difference. However, it will take more than just one guy sending a letter to get the ear of our politicians. So, I am asking that everyone pass this email around to all they know and ask each of those individuals to copy and paste this letter to Word - change the name of the politician to the one residing over their area and change the signature block as well to be their own and send this hard copy letter to their politicians. One voice is drowned out easily by the sound of ones own greediness; however, to make a louder cry with many voices - change may come around. You watch Illegal immigrants, gays, war protesters and racists storm our white house to get the attention of our government for their whims and wants; but, you dont ever see taxpayers storm it to get fairness or protest higher taxes - soooo, maybe we can get more people involved if they dont have to leave their houses and simply mail off a letter. It is inevitable that the automakers are going down. To bail them out would buy some time but they are still bound to fail. Right now, tens of thousands of new vehicles sit in lots unsold. Chrysler it self reports they have 50,000. With the economy going where it is people are struggling to survive, no less buy a new car, and it's going to get worse before it gets better. I believe we are headed for a depression like this country has never experienced. (I hope I'm wrong) We need to do something drastic and it's not bailouts. Halting imports and restarting our factories for our own necessities would be a good start. We need to become independent so we can regain the strength we once had. We are so far in dept to Japan and China I can see that it wouldn't be very hard for them to own our banking system before too long. I am 55 years old and have never missed a presidential election since I was 18 years old. I have been disappointed in the outcome of many presidential elections in the past...especially this one. I have never had a problem accepting the new president as I have this one. Having a president that is as anti-American Obama is, reminds me of the fall of the USSR when they had their own troops fighting their own citizens in the streets of Russia. When the soldiers realized they were actually fighting their own relatives/neighbors, they threw down their arms, took off their uniforms and joined their loved ones. My question is, God forbid if it come to that in the United States, what would our troops do?

I am proud to say I voted. I have served our country for 22 yrs and have stood side by side with both men and women in harms way. What makes our country great and very different from many others is the way our transition of power is managed. The people I voted for did not win their offices. However as a soldier I have always been taught to follow the orders of those above me. That includes my President regardless of whether I voted for him or not. Now, it is my duty to do all I can as a American to do my part in making my country a better place in the world around me. I cant change congressional decisions, presidential executive orders and all that, but I can change the attitude I have and make a difference in the people around me on a regular basis. Well I was wrong, they only make $28 an hour, Thanks for clearing that up. Nearly $40 if you include benefits. Now as far as that other crap about $70 an hour, that's another example of bullshit. I went to www.uaw.org and they back-up what I said. You can't add up what everyone in this country, retired or living on the benefits of a deceased one, collects in benefits and then divide it by the hours of the ones that are actually working and say that is how much the workers are paid. Can you? They MAKE $28 dollars an hour plus $10 or $12 in benefits.

The pay for the average UAW worker is no more than $40 an hour and that includes benefits, not benfits. Research. Don't just repeat outlandish crap you have heard or read.

You put over a million auto workers and jobs related to the auto industry out of work (not all union workers) in this country and you will see a depression far worse than the 1920s. Same goes for the housing industry--the more people who lose their jobs the more it will hurt our economy. The less people who work...the less people who spend money which causes more businesses to cut back and lay off which put more people out of work; therefore, you have a depression. I made the mistake of buying a Chevy truck 5 years ago. In that time the trans "grenaded" in the middle of the desert at 1 a.m. - this with 56,000 miles. Then the catalytic converter went, suspension problems, cylinder head and radiator, then finally the crank and pistons seized. This all before 100,000 miles, all services were done by a Chevy dealer in Simi Valley, and they treated me like crap. So, am I happy to see GM and the others crawl on their bellies like the reptiles they are - you bet! Do I think they should get bailed out or ANYTHING like it - hell no. If in a "free-market" economy you suck at something, you get replaced, well, they need to get replaced. If I, or you suck at your job, you get canned. In the defense of the American Auto Industry, How can one expect them, to afford building better cars and trucks, when there unions and union workers demand the high wages and benefits they receive and im not just talking about your 40 hour work week worker im also talking about those who retire from those big three. Someone check out pay scales and Benifits for an American Auto compony vs. a Foreign Auto compony you should notice a big difference. So if the studies show Americans focus on cost to purchase maybe we should also focus on cost to produce. It may make things easier to afford by making them cheaper to produce in our own country. Think about it as a whole, if the Unions didn't price their workers out of jobs here in America the Companies building and producing their products wouldn't have to go over seas. Guns save more lives than they take; prevent more injuries than they inflict * Guns used 2.5 million times a year in self-defense. Law-abiding citizens use guns to defend themselves against criminals as many as 2.5 million times every year -- or about 6,850 times a day.1 This means that each year, firearms are used more than 80 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.2 * Of the 2.5 million times citizens use their guns to defend themselves every year, the overwhelming majority merely brandish their gun or fire a warning shot to scare off their attackers. Less than 8% of the time, a citizen will kill or wound his/her attacker.3 * As many as 200,000 women use a gun every year to defend themselves against sexual abuse.4 * Even anti-gun Clinton researchers concede that guns are used 1.5 million times annually for self-defense. According to the Clinton Justice Department, there are as many as 1.5 million cases of self-defense every year. The National Institute of Justice published this figure in 1997 as part of "Guns in America" -- a study which was authored by noted anti-gun criminologists Philip Cook and Jens Ludwig.5 * Armed citizens kill more crooks than do the police. Citizens shoot and kill at least twice as many criminals as police do every year (1,527 to 606).6 And readers of Newsweek learned that "only 2 percent of civilian shootings involved an innocent person mistakenly identified as a criminal. The 'error rate' for the police, however, was 11 percent, more than five times as high."7 * Handguns are the weapon of choice for self-defense. Citizens use handguns to protect themselves over 1.9 million times a year.8 Many of these self-defense handguns could be labeled as "Saturday Night Specials." B. Concealed carry laws help reduce crime * Nationwide: one-half million self-defense uses. Every year, as many as one-half million citizens defend themselves with a firearm away from home.9 * Concealed carry laws are dropping crime rates across the country. A comprehensive national study determined in 1996 that violent crime fell after states made it legal to carry concealed firearms. The results of the study showed: * States which passed concealed carry laws reduced their murder rate by 8.5%, rapes by 5%, aggravated assaults by 7% and robbery by 3%;10 and * If those states not having concealed carry laws had adopted such laws in 1992, then approximately 1,570 murders, 4,177 rapes, 60,000 aggravated assaults and over 11,000 robberies would have been avoided yearly.11 * Vermont: one of the safest five states in the country. In Vermont, citizens can carry a firearm without getting permission... without paying a fee... or without going through any kind of government-imposed waiting period. And yet for ten years in a row, Vermont has remained one of the top-five, safest states in the union -- having three times received the "Safest State Award."12 * Florida: concealed carry helps slash the murder rates in the state. In the fifteen years following the passage of Florida's concealed carry law in 1987, over 800,000 permits to carry firearms were issued to people in the state.13 FBI reports show that the homicide rate in Florida, which in 1987 was much higher than the national average, fell 52% during that 15-year period -- thus putting the Florida rate below the national average. 14 * Do firearms carry laws result in chaos? No. Consider the case of Florida. A citizen in the Sunshine State is far more likely to be attacked by an alligator than to be assaulted by a concealed carry holder. 1. During the first fifteen years that the Florida law was in effect, alligator attacks outpaced the number of crimes committed by carry holders by a 229 to 155 margin. 2. And even the 155 "crimes" committed by concealed carry permit holders are somewhat misleading as most of these infractions resulted from Floridians who accidentally carried their firearms into res

But before we move on, we should pause to remember just what we're leaving behind. Just over two years into George W. Bush's presidency, The American Prospect featured Bush on its cover under the headline, "The Most Dangerous President Ever." At the time, some probably thought it a bit over the top. But nearly six years later, it's worth taking a moment to reflect on the multifaceted burden that will soon be lifted from our collective shoulders. Since last week, I have stopped short and shaken my head in amazement every time I have heard the words "President-elect Obama." But it is equally extraordinary to consider that in just a few weeks, George W. Bush will no longer be our president. Let me repeat that: In just a few weeks, George W. Bush will no longer be our president. So though our long national ordeal isn't quite over, it's never too early to say goodbye. You won't see this datum on the US evening news, or hear politicians disseminating this information. The analogy is absolutely right on . . Maxine tells it like it is!!!! I bought a bird feeder. I hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue. Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, the table everywhere! Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And others birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be.... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal. Now let's see. Our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegal's came by the tens of thousands. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to 'press one' to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than 'Old Glory' are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Point of this article* Let me point out a few interesting dynamics and personality types that I have observed when it comes to the American people and their attitudes towards the official body of evidence as it pertains to 9/11 culpability. The One-Way highway - This is the term I use for the one-way phenomenon of people altering their beliefs about 9/11 culpability. During the seven years of post 9/11 life and during the five years of my research into the events of 9/11, I have neither witnessed or heard of anyone who realized that 9/11 was a false flag operation carried out by moles within the Unites States military and intelligence apparatus, and then switched positions and started believing the official story. I have not even heard about one single human being, who, after examining enough evidence to conclude that 9/11 was an inside job, reversed their position. People, when told about some of the evidence not discussed by the establishment media, change their position so that it aligns with the facts. The willfully ignorant - These are terms I use for people who ignore history and everything around them and vehemently believe that America is the most wonderful nation in the world that has never and will never do wrong. They also believe that America is a real democracy and that the voting public has an actual say in things. Too funny. Anyway, these people, when shown the mountains of evidence eventually run out of counter arguments and accept the fact that the evidence is overwhelming and pointing at the Bush crime family, but fall back on the old "I still don't believe that they would do such a thing!" The invincible ignorant- This is what I call the people who defend the official story by offering explanations that the authors of the official story don't even claim. They provide theoretical scenarios and reasoning that have never been put forward by the officials. Just as an example - any day of the week you can hear someone, on some talk radio or TV program, talk about the 19 hijackers or Osama bin Laden or "Owl-kater, when it comes to 9/11. Well, according to the F.B.I the Osama is not wanted in connection with 9/11 because they have no evidence linking him to the events. And as far as the hijackers...7 of them are alive and the F.B.I. admitted that they do not have conclusive proof of who, if anybody, hijacked planes on 9/11. But the counter theorists keep spouting this crap.( Perhaps misinformation agents or just plain stupid) The Hand washers- These are people, mostly Jewish people who have seen the 9/11 evidence, understand and accept that it was indeed an inside job, but will stop all communication with you if there is any mention of possible Israeli or Mossad connections brought up. You can spot these people because they use the term "anti-Semite" to identify anyone who exposed any wrongdoing by an Israeli or by individuals who are working in the interest of Israel. The La la flower children- These are the people who look at people like me and say that they realize that the government lied to them about 9/11 but the ramifications are too much for them to handle. So they just go about their lives, picking flowers and ignoring all around them.(Gee, what can I do about it) Sadly, many of these people are parents and don't seem to give a damn what kind of world they are passing down to their children and their childrens children. I am a conservative before a Republican, and I did vote. The Republican party will have the next 2 years (2010)to try and get back to being the party of reform. Lets make sure that O'bama does not try to enact the "Fairness Doctrine" or people like L-Rushmo, Sean Hannity will be silenced. My post regarding the American Flag was cut off so I am posting this section: Imagine a Commander-in-Chief that doesn't even know when to salute the US Flag, or perhaps just doesn't want to. Each day on military installations across the US a group of eight military personnel meet at approximately at 05:00 and begin to prepare to raise the flag. The flag is taken from Division head quarters, where it had been placed carefully and with much respect the evening before to stay guarded throughout the night, and is carried to the flag pole. Each Solider that the flag passed on it's way, has to salute the flag as it passes by. In one of the most honorable ceremonies that military personnel have the privilege to take part in at 06:00 the cannon fires, then the bugle call Reveille is played and the flag is raised to full mast. Don't be mistaken, every fine American citizen in the United States Military salutes it when they either hear the cannon fire or hear Reveille being played. Also at the close of business each day the second part of this ceremony takes place. At 17:00 the bugle call Retreat is played and the flag is lowered and then stored for the night. When Retreat is played everyone stops what they are doing, faces head quarters, comes to the position of attention and salutes the flag again. This happens each day in the military, and each person in the military salutes with pride knowing that they have honorably served this nation for another day. THERE ARE SOME TYPES OF CHANGE THAT WE DON'T NEED.

I too thanked my Dad for being a vet and for fighting to keep this country free. It never occurred to me...until the last few years that my Dad is a veteran too and when I observe Veterans Day he is the first one I should thank. Kinda weird, huh?

In the early years of our imprisonment, the NVA kept us in solitary confinement or two or three to a cell. In 1971 the NVA moved us from these conditions of isolation into large rooms with as many as 30 to 40 men to a room. This was, as you can imagine, a wonderful change and was a direct result of the efforts of millions of Americans on behalf of a few hundred POWs 10,000 miles from home. One of the men who moved into my room was a young man named Mike Christian Mike came from a small town near Selma , Alabama . He didn't wear a pair of shoes until he was 13 years old. At 17, he enlisted in the US Navy. He later earned a commission by going to Officer Training School Then he became a Naval Flight Officer and was shot down and captured in 1967. One day the Vietnamese searched our cell, as they did periodically, and discovered Mike's shirt with the flag sewn inside, and removed it. Then, they opened the door of the cell and threw him in. We cleaned him up as well as we could. The cell in which we lived had a concrete slab in the middle on which we slept Four naked light bulbs hung in each corner of the room. As I said, we tried to clean up Mike as well as we could. Wild, I agree it's not going to be candy and spice for the next 4 years....I think there is a lot of hell to come...and I have all the respect in the world for the men and women who defend this country in order for us to have the right to say what we feel. I have a family member who's name is on the wall. And I respect everyone's right to come here and voice their opinion. I didn't mean to insult anyone here. When I posted that, I was having a bad time with a personal loss that comes back and hits me in the gut....or the heart...once in awhile and it made me stop and think about what is important to me. Our country is very important to me....but I have other things that are important to me too....my family....and living life to it's fullest...something I pray we'll always have the freedom to do. If we stand together we can defend the rights we have....and maybe we'll have to do that. well the simple answer is that most people don't approve of congress, anytime, no matter who is in charge of it or no matter who the President is. They just don't approve of congress. Dakota...not sure of the ages of your kids. But check into something. I claimed my son till he was 20 yrs old. He only had small jobs and didn't file taxes. Therefore under NC laws I was able to claim him. And for the record. I don't mind that we now have a black president. I'm pissed off that the "American" voters voted him in BECAUSE he is black.

If he cuts taxes for the top 94%, and 40% of those don't even pay taxes then that means they are getting welfare. I use to work with a woman that was on welfare for a while and then she started to work in the office I was managing. She got 900.00 a month rental assistance. I never had a problem with that as she needed the help. However 1 year she needed help doing her taxes and ask if I could help her so I did. After doing her taxes even though she only worked part time and was receiving all that rental assistance she ended up getting a return of over 4000.00. Now what pissed me off was 1 she didn't have to pay a dime in taxes, 2 she got more back that what she had even put in which I thought was bullshit as I was working hard and so was my husband and we had to pay taxes but the worst insult was she used the extra money to go visit a friend in California instead of using it for something important or saving it for a rainy day when she needed the help.

I haven't hunter since the mid 80's and I've never done it from the air or a stand for that matter. The wife still hunts however. Last year after spending a cold day in the woods and coming up empty she decided to call it day and headed back to her dads land to pack up. While standing in his garage she saw a big doe cross the field. So she popped open a window and shot it. It tasted just as good as any deer thats been stalked through the woods. So whats what your point. I have yet to meet a hunter that has a problem with shooting any game from the air...unless of course they need a reason to hate Palin.

I think I know what 2step was trying to say about how they look. I didn't make up my mind who I was voting before hearing it all. Watching all the debates. Checking all the facts to see who was lying and who was telling the truth. In the end I based my decision on all of it. What did disappoint me more then anything was how rude McCain acted toward Obama. On public TV during the last debate when you could watch both candidates during the debate. They can pass all the gun laws and taxes they want. It will only affect the law abiding gun owners. Many people consider me to be a liberal, then they're surprised when they find out that whenever you see me (and it doesn't matter how I am dressed), I am carrying a gun at all times. I consider myself to be a "liberal minded" person and instead of being brainwashed in my formative years, I was raised to make up my own mind about faith and religion. Now, as an adult I believe in God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. I try not to judge others but I am only human and I usually don't say anything until someone has said or done something that I feel strongly about. I try my best not to hurt feelings when I respond. When I think it's appropriate I inject some humor or at least try to keep it light. I have always learned to work on my own cars and bikes. I believe that if you own a bike , you should work on it yourself. I tend to vote Democrat but not always or on every issue. In fact I had, but lost a lot of respect for John McCain as he finally went 100% republican in his quest for the White House. There was something I always noticed when I was a child about the differences in Democrats and Republicans and it still rings true in me today. It's in their photos, the democrats always look friendly in their photos and the republicans always look stone faced and mean or constipated in their photos. Now they both get in some kind of trouble over money, car accidents and driving under the influence, but when it comes to "sex scandals" the democrats are either fooling around on their spouses, coming out of the closet, or both. But when the Republicans get into a sex scandal, it's usually involves some type of illegal, homosexual activity that sometimes includes minors. Now this has just been my perspective on things and how I see them. I don't think anyone is going to take our guns away from us unless we all start doing and saying foolish things about what we'll do if they try.

Yes Dakota in a way the sky is falling. At least the sun has set on freedoms as we have known them. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.. If the Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ . If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.. I choose optimism; like many of you I awoke to the bad news the morning after the election. I read the gloom and doom and propaganda. I voted for McCain but feared that he wouldn't survive the presidency and our president would be a woman none of us had even heard of until several months ago. Obama was not elected KING. We have voted for Senators and Representatives to ensure that our voices are heard here in America. The wide-sweeping changes expected will take time - if they happen at all. Each of us must use our voice - understand the issues and vote. Change can bring good - he may surprise us all.

I'm with BigRed on the electorial college thing. Here in PA the entire state went McCain with the exception of Philly, Pittsburg and State College (Penn State). It totally amazes me how many people are so gullible. Too lazy to research the facts so that their vote can be based on FACT and not BS. I have read this post and many others and although I was not going to post anything I feel I have no choice. I spoke to many people about this election, some voting for McCain and some for Obama. I really never tried to sway their vote either way. I only asked one thing Educate yourself ! If you get an email look to see if it is truth or BS. It just amazes me how some people can’t take the time to look up a simple Fact, but they can take the time to create a post and not see if what they are posting is truth. So many people stuck in their old ways to search for the truth before making a decision, (I seem to recall a time where human beings were burned at the stake because one or a few people screamed “a witch!” are you really so gullible that the mere thought or suggestion toward another human being would be taken as fact without proper research. ) I respect peoples opinions even if they are not the same as mine, as long as their opinions are based on FACT. I just recently turned 50 and I am proud of it. But when I look back to what has changed in 50 years I am saddened. Although many good things have happened some are not so good. When I was growing up if you needed a cup of sugar you walked next door and asked your neighbor for it and they gladly gave it to you. Now people don’t even talk to their neighbors. When 911 happened America united. People held doors for other people, they all of a sudden found a sense of patriotism. Unfortunately it didn’t last very long until we were all back to the same mindset…. Me me me. The people spoke last night and voted for change. The possibility for America to unite together and create a better place in which to live, work, and prosper. Will President Obama be the greatest change this country has ever seen, nobody knows that, and won’t unless it happens. But millions of people obviously decided to give him a chance. Years ago the people put an actor in the office ( lol who would of thought that would have been a good idea) but the man did a wonderful job as President. During the Reagan years we thrived and grew as a country. Why? Because the people gave him a chance. We now have an opportunity to once again possibly change the way our country is headed. As Americans who are so proud to be American, why would you not support your President and help him to make this place a better world to live in. Why would you not give him your support and a chance to see if he can do a good job running this country. Why not look around and see what the world is saying right now. America is truly a land of opportunity where every American has the chance to be President if they work hard enough at it. There is no more or should not be anymore racism in this country and why wouldn’t you see this as a change for the better. There should no longer be any reason for minorities to say hey we are an oppressed people. No you not, look who just became President of the United States of America. He didn’t come from a rich family that has every opportunity handed to them. He worked hard for everything he has and he worked harder to get where he is, and believes every person should have that right and chance. Black, white, yellow, red or even purple. When he was first running for President I said hell no I am not voting for him and then I took the time to listen to what he had to say. I watched all the debates. I looked up the facts when rumors were spread about him. I wanted to know who I was voting for and I wanted it based on “FACT” not rumors. So if you are disappointed today now that he is President I once again ask you to do the research. Look at all the rumors and BS spread around during this election. Its not too late.. Take the time to look up what is fact and what is BS and then when you find the truth, be a good American and Support your President. Because one man can’t change life for the better, it needs to be a group effort.
