**Update 4**
Brother Hoss is Home.

**Update 3**
Surgery yesterday went well. He's getting hyper. Should be out soon.

**Update 2**
Optometry says eye should be ok.

The Physical Therapist came in Hoss' room today and brought him a walker to see how well he would do. He walked around 25-30 feet. He is well on his way.

**Update**
Dan is sitting up and talking.

-------------------------
Friends,

Dan, aka Hoss, US Military Vets MC, was involved in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning in Austin. He is stable in ICU. We were relieved that it wasn't as bad as we were lead to believe during initial phone calls. It's still bad, but we are much more optimistic. He has a minor fracture of the C7 that should not need surgery. No bleeding, contusions, or swelling of the brain was detected. He has facial fractures on the left side of his head that will require surgery once the swelling goes down. Our biggest concern is the aspiration pneumonia that developed from him being unconscious at the scene. He is being kept sedated but during time when sedation has weakened, he has been responsive and moves his toes and fingers.

Please keep Dan, his family, and his friends in your prayers.

Why we ride.

ARE YOU A PATRIOT GUARD RIDER?
by Groundhogpmc

"Are you a Patriot Guard Rider?"
I heard the man say,
As I just finished stowing
Some items away.

"Yes I am", I replied
And started to raise my kickstand.
Then he said, "I just wanted
To shake your hand."

Then he grabbed me and hugged me
And held me real tight.
This man I'd just met,
This very night.

I then saw the tears
Filling up his eyes.
I didn't need to ask,
I just knew the reason why.

And suddenly my own tears
I couldn't hold back,
As he told me his son
Had been killed in Iraq .

He said he just wanted to thank me
For being by his side
Then he turned and walked away
And that's why "We Ride".

Under the Leather and Behind the Shades

Under the leather and behind the shades stands a biker. We ride for the sense of freedom it gives us. The encouragement to take the road less traveled in the chance that we may encounter something new. We ride for the friendships we make along the way, as well as, the solitude of the open road. We dont really care what you ride, just that you do.

Under the leather and behind the shades is a beating heart. A heart filled with compassion that on any given day will be riding for those in need. Ask one of us for help, but dont be surprised when all of us show up.

Under the leather and behind the shades stands a proud American. We are as diverse a group of people that you could possibly assemble. We are men, women, tradesmen, doctors, lawyers, retirees, military, civilian and on and on and on. We stand silently with reverence and one voice that, in the silence, can be overwhelming.

Under the leather and behind the shades stands an invited guest to the funeral of a soldier that we most likely have never met. We hold the flag of our nation as a tribute to the greatest sacrifice anyone can make. Out of respect for the fallen, we travel to stand firm for a family, a community and a nation to lean on.

Under the leather and behind the shades stands a biker with sons, daughters, brothers and sisters of our own. Beneath the rough exterior we tremble and weep at your loss. You may not see that, for we are there to support you. Thats why we stand so silently under the leather and behind the shades.

Respectfully,
David Meyers II

So you think you know a Motorcycle Rider?

I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line.
But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday.

I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on thesidewalk.
But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall.

I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant.
But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief.

I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I drove by.
But, you didn't see me, driving behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window.

I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children.
But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless.

I saw you, stare at my long hair.
But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love.

I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves.
But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none.

I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos.
But, you didn't see me, cry as my children where born and have their name written over and in my heart.

I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere.
But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family.

I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be.
But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane.

I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car.
But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me.

I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road.
But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn.

I saw you, race down the road in the rain.
But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date.

I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time.
But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right.

I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in.
But, you didn't see me, leave the road.

I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass.
But, you didn't see me.
I wasn't there.

I saw you, go home to your family.
But, you didn't see me.
Because, I died that day you cut me off.

I was just a biker,.....
A person with friends and a family.
But, you didn't see me.

A BIKERS' TRIBUTE by Robert Sanders

Out of the darkness, brefore it's daylight
You can see shining headlights, coming out of the night
You can hear all the thunder, from pipes on the side
A thousand one bikers, just out on their ride

They're out on a mission, a ride for MS
Or raise money for cancer, or a toy run at best
But you never will see them, a challenge turned down
They're out to do good, when they ride into town

So what?.They might party, and have a good time
But best bet your dollar, they've got one thing in mind
To get a job done, that's all needs to be said
That's the main thought that they have, deep in their heads

They ride in the rain, and even in cold
They ride when they're young, and ride when they're old
You see it's a mission, that nobody else takes
They do it for love, of life for christs' sakes

They do it for people, who's debts are too high
They do it because, they just love to ride
But never, no never, say that they don't care
Cos when they are needed, they'll always be there

So if there might be one, broke down on the road
Pull over and help them, to lighten their load
Cos they're out to help, when nobody else will
To raise what they can, for the sick and the ill
So this I might say, and it might be astute
But this I do give them, a bikers' tribute

by Robert Sanders

Turn ons:
Ridin', laid back women, Ridin', non-judgmental women, Ridin', women that can hang(but still be responsible. what a contradiction)
Turn offs:
women who invent drama to get attention. F'ing folks that stick their nose where it doesn't belong. Backstabbing bullshit gossip, pisses me off.
