Introduction:
I have just been informed that My good friend's son, of the 173rd airborne, was in a NATO convoy in Jalalabad, Afghanistan when a suicide bomber with a vehicle full of explosives hit her son's humvee on 05-30-08. He is in the military burn unit in San Antonio, TX fighting for his life. Two of his comrads were killed. His name is Kevin. He has severe head injuries and 2nd and 3rd degress burns on much of his body. Please say a prayer for this soldier!!!
06-10-08 UPDATE: Kevin has slipped into a coma and has a respiratory infection and spinal fluid infection and they removed fungal rot from his arm and hand. Please continue to pray for him and his family!
06-12-08 UPDATE: Some good news...97% of Kevin's skin grafts took. But he has developed a blood infection so please continue to keep him in your prayers!

Good news....Daniel, the other soldier in the humvee with Kevin woke up and is responding to his mother. Kevin had a bad day so please keep him in your prayers!

My friend Leslie is posting daily reports about Kevin and this blog will give you a true sense of what she, Kevin and her family are enduring. Kevin is facing new obstacles and he is not absorbing any fluids and may have an infection in his heart. Please continue to pray for him!
06-18-08 UPDATE: I have received an email from Leslie, who is Kevin's mother and my good friend. Kevin did have a blood clot, but this has been taken care of by his Drs. Kevin had a good day yesterday and was responding to his mother and sister by raising his arm in answers to their questions. I am praying this is a great start to him fully recovering. Thank you to everyone who has prayed for Kevin and his family and please take a moment of silence to honor Kevin's two comrads who did not survive and continue to pray for the many others who are still out there fighting this stupid war!!!
06-21-08 UPDATE: Kevin is still in a Stage 5 Coma and his family is still keeping a bedside vigil. Please continue to pray for all of them!!! Please Especially pray for His mother Leslie and his Sister Brianna to maintain their strength and emotional, physical and mental well-being as they endure the daily demands at Kevin's bedside during his recovery!
6-30-08 UPDATE: Sorry for the delay in updates. Kevin had a spinal tap test done and it is showing That the med's appear to be working! Hopefully Kevin is on his way to a full recovery. The Post Gazette did a great story on the family. There is a family photo posted with the story for you to view so you can see Kevin, his mother Leslie, and sister Brianna. 07-02-08 UPDATE: Great News!!! Kevin has made a great improvement in his medical condition. He has moved from a stage 4 & 5 coma to a stage 9 coma. He is responding some to his Mother Leslie and sister Breezy. Please continue to pray for Kevin's full recovery!
07-09-08 UPDATE: Kevin had surgery for grafts to his eyes and chin and the surgery did go well. On a good note...the meningitis is gone!!! If all goes well Kevin will be transferred to Tampa, FL by the end of the month to a traumatic brain hospital. Please keep praying for Kevin!
NEW UPDATE: This one is for my co-worker and friend Todd. He was in a motorcycle accident last week and is in ICU here in Johnstown. I have received limited info but I do know he has at least two skull fractures and other injuries. Please add him to your prayers also! He and his wife Mickey are fabulous people!!!
07-29-08: UPDATES: Kevin is still in the military burn unit in TX. HE has had additional surgeries on his eyes as well as fluid drained from his head and chest cavity. Todd has been moved from ICU to a regular room in the hospital but still has a lengthy recovery. Continue to keep both of these men in your prayers!
08-15-08 UPDATE: Kevin has had surgery for a shunt to be placed in his head and it was successful. If all goes well Kevin may be transferred to the Traumatic Brain Hospital in tampa, Fl in 3-4 weeks. Leslie and Breezy (mom & Sister) are now helping him work on his motor skills. My co-worker is now at the Creighton center for rehab. Please continue to keep both of these people as well as all our other soldiers in your prayers! God Bless everyone one of you and Thank You for all that you do!
UPDATE: 09-10-08 Kevin has been flown to Tampa, FL and is in the Traumatic Brain Hospital. Kevin seems to be responding to the Therapy. Sept. 8th was Day 100 since his accident and Kevin was able to Have a few sips Of cola, and Is moving his right leg in therapy! Kevin is making sounds and trying to talk but still has a trach. Leslie reported that Kevin actually gave her a hug and Kiss for the first time today since Kevin had been injured. Kevin has kept down some powerade today and his feeding tube may be removed in the future. God is truly working a miracle here! Please keep in our prayers Kevin and His comrad Daniel who was also injured in this same event. As this is the day before 9/11, please remember all the lives that were sacrificed on 9/11/2001 and pray for all our military that is still deployed!!!

About Me:
I live in Johnstown, PA home to the "Thunder in the Valley" and known for all the Johnstown Floods. I am single (divorced) and have a daughter and two sons whom are the love of my life. I am outgoing, optimistic and I can get along with almost anyone. I always live life to the fullest because life is to short to waste any time not enjoying it! I am a huge fan of Football (Go Steelers!) and Hockey (Yeah...Pens!). I love going to concerts, amusement parks and traveling. I love trying new things and I am up for any new adventures!!! I love the beach, the outdoors, jumping on a bike and just riding to where ever the bike can take me. I do work out as often as I can. I work hard and I enjoy what I do but when work is done I choose to unwind doing the things I enjoy the most!
