Introduction:

Hello out there, I'm just your average joe that happens to be named Mark.

Was born, got over it.
Grew up, got over it.
Working till I die, getting over it.
Without LOVE, does anything in between really matter?
The wind in my face, a Harley beneath me and good friends beside me helps.

I was born and raised in the South, no apologies or boasts, just the facts. It ain't where your ass is from, it's where your head is at that counts most!! I feel so lucky just to be alive, right here, right now.....

Thanks to the Navy, I've been halfway around the world and still never saw a more beautiful and peaceful place than the Southern Appalachian Mountains.

We're all taking a wild ride together through the universe on this bright blue orb, so stop by and let me know how your trip's going!! Maybe I can help some.

LET'S ROLL!!

Turn ons:
reddish to orangish to purpleish sunsets---genuine smiles---a quiet, leisurely walk in the woods---a hot shower and a warm, soft bed after a three day camp---snuggle-spoonin' or is it called spoon-snugglin', ha-ha!!---whispering sweet nothings
Turn offs:
loud noises unless it's coming from an exhaust pipe---braggarts---a flat tire and no tools---having to get up early---getting tickled, but not getting to return the favor!!
Ideal:
She'd be soft in all the right places, but hard in all the right places, too!! Not to mention AT the right place, beside me always :):) Ok-I know that unless you're a siamese twin, you can't be beside someone always. I meant the "in your heart" way, dig
Activities:
Reading, writing, but no 'rithmatic, thank you very much!! I love anything that gets me closer to Nature. Watching my better half's smile grow bigger and brighter is one of my favorite activities, it seems to make mine grow as well!!
Interests:
I feel Nature is the most unbiased of teachers, IF you're willing to learn, that is. Whenever I can, I go back into the woods for refresher courses!!
I love to just sit and watch all the birds flutter around the feeders I've set out, guess that's not much of a macho thing to tell here on this biker site, but thats my story and I'm stickin' to it!!
I'd chunk all the modern convienences to live a simpler life if I could. Well, all but my Harley, of course!! And lets see, not my stereo (got to soothe that savage beast every now and again), not my refrigerator (got to have my beer ice cold!!), and not my indoor plumbing (can't run to the outhouse as fast as I once could, ha-ha!!)
Other than that, I just like to have good, positive thinking people around me, whatever I'm doing. I'm always up for suggestions!!
Favorite Music:
From Lynyrd Skynyrd to Mozart, my musical tastes are like my moods, varied and intense to say the least, but never overbearing to others.
Favorite TV Shows:
All the oldies, from Mr. Ed to Andy Griffith to the Twilight Zone. And some of the new stuff, although it takes a while for most of them to get and keep my attention. Crossing Jordan, Medium, CSI Miami, for obvious reasons!! 24, Heroes, Lost, or anything on the History, Discovery or Travel channels!! And Samantha Brown, WOW---don't get me started, I'd follow her around the world. And further, if that's what it took to catch her!!
Favorite Movies:
Mostly older Westerns, the ones with Gary Cooper and the like, or--man vs nature--films like The Edge, Man in the Wilderness, Never Cry Wolf, Jeremiah Johnson. Anything where the main adversary is Nature itself, a much harder foe to battle than just other men.
And I can snuggle on the couch with that special someone, have a good cry watching an old tear-jerkin' love story, and it not upset my manhood one bit!! Ever see an old 40's movie called Random Harvest?? One of my favorites of that genre, always got to have a hankie close by when I'm watchin' that one, ha-ha!!
Favorite Books:
I've recently been turned onto a lot of Stephen King's works (where have I been, right!!) I love The Stand, the long version is probably the longest book I've ever read. From a Buick 8 by him was mind boggling!!
I like a lot of science fiction, too, by Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, Larry Niven, Harlan Ellison. Even the real old ones like H.G. Wells and Edgar Rice Burroughs, hell, I reckon I cut my teeth on those guys!!
And yes, I even read my Bible fairly regular!!
Favorite Quotes:
"NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST", JRR Tolkien

"NOT ALL WHO ARE LOST GOT THERE BY WANDERING", Rockcairn

About Me:
I could use a lot of fancy words describing how great a person I am, but have never felt comfortable tooting my own horn too loudly. There's enough people doing that for themselves already, why add to the noise pollution??
I like to be judged by the same yardstick I use for others. What's the distance between what you say and what you do?? The longer that measurement is, the less I want to know you. It's that simple. Talk to me so I can know you better, not just to brag, any buffoon can do that.
If you've liked what you saw or read in my profile, by all means give me a holler, if not, thanks for stopping by anyway!!

Like I said before, I'm just your average joe named Mark, and am damn glad to meet ya!!

It WAS a Liberty Edition when I bought it new. What a dumbass for not leaving it that way!! But that was long, long ago in a mindset far, far away. But what fun it was, and still is, even in it's present form.
