Uh, did I leave anything out? Here's my point: I believe music is art. If it's sincere, I'll respect it. It's all a matter of opinion... and I'm guilty of truly disliking only two forms of music: jazz and rap - damn, I hate that shit with a passion. Oh, and I don't really care for political lyrics - I just enjoy the music not the message.
It really bothers me that people only think something is "good" if it plays on the radio or tv. In fact, if it gets radio airplay, there's a pretty good chance I'll not give it a second listen. Not simply because it plays on the radio, but because I know that most music designed for mass markets are insincere attempts at cashing in and not all that honest. In short, "music" and "business" shouldn't be bedfellows.
One final note: I'd appreciate not being judged as a person simply because of the music I listen to. Yes, I supposed I've got an eclectic taste in noisemakers, but if you've got a problem with it then it's just that - your fuckin' problem, not mine.

TV rots the brain. When I do watch a little TV, it's mostly FOXNews and History Channel.

2006 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 Low
Let's see... installed S&S cleaner, rejet from #42 to #45, Cycle Shack slip-ons, painted fork sliders with bedliner spray, added pillion and sissybar, windshield goes on and off with my mood, front fender goes on and off with my mood also, added saddlebags then got rid of them, fabbed highway pegs for long-distance comfort, ummm... that's about it so far. Not many changes, but at least I can say I do all the mods and maintenance myself. |
