Introduction:
Middle-aged "normal" schmuck just trying to enjoy life as it comes. Always good to meet other riders who enjoy life.
Shunpiking means "to take the road less traveled". Centuries ago, roads (known as PIKES) were private affairs and travelers often had to pay a TOLL to use them. Folks would jump off the pike onto small animal trails to avoid the tool booths. Thus, they would SHUN the PIKE or toll, by taking the smaller back roads and trails. Look it up - GOOGLE it.... I can't make stuff up like that!
We like to ride the backroads and older routes (we avoid the interstates whenever possible). |
Turn ons:
In people: GOOD ATTITUDE, intellect, sense of humor, open minded. In general: making stuff, comedy, adventure, EARTH. |
Turn offs:
Braggarts, obnoxious people, liars, mooches. People who think that there is ONLY one kind of bike and that "bigger is better." Oh ya.... CHROME. |
Ideal:

Activities:
W.W.II re-enacting, military vehicles, motorcycles, photography, geocaching, anything I can get away with without getting killed by my wife!

Interests:
History buff, restoring military vehicles, metal work, firearms, wood work, jack of all trades, master of none.

Favorite Music:
Most anything except the extreme stuff; be it opera or acid rock or gangsta rap.

Favorite TV Shows:
I don't have TV.......... rots your brain.
|
Favorite Movies:
Avid movie buff. Far too many to list, but a few are Groundhog Day, V for Vendetta, We Were Soldiers, Bridge Too Far, Band of Brothers, John Adams (you get the idea)

Favorite Books:
Anything by Jeff Shaara, Tony Horwitz, Stephen Ambrose. I read more historical novels and fiction than anything else.
