Hi I am for this site called Street Hog, I guess I’m a re-born biker. I was a biker in my younger days as a teenager. I grow up close to Box Hill in Leatherhead in Surrey. I started riding in the woods close to home aged 14 years old. but I had had a motorbike from about 8 years old however back then I just rode that around our large back garden at that age. I past my full moped test on a Yamaha FS1-E. Aged 16 and three months back in 1979.
For those of you that dont know the Yamaha FS1-E or simply want to see one again check out BBC's Top Gear presenter James May try and get 85mph out of one just for a laugh "Oh those were the days" LOL
Laughably I claim to have got 67 miles an hour out of my unrestricted Yamaha FS-1E but it was down hill, and I did make a number of additional change beyond the simple ones James May made. Unlike James May's attempt the gearing was changed and I was a lot lighter back then age 16 years old, than a fully grown middle aged James May LOL. The work I did back then was as follows: I skimmed the head, and opened up the small inlet and out let ports using an electric drill and grinder on the end of a drill bit. This allowed me to increase the amount of fuel mixture going in to the barrel and increase the gas flow out of the exhaust. With the increased level of compression due to the skimmed cylinder head and the highly polished head and piston top along with the re jetting of the carburettor and placing of a K&N performance air filter the overall performance was increased. In addition to that I striped the bike down as much as possible and putting clip on handle bars and a set of rear set for the rear brake and gear leaver along with a quarter front furring and seat furring and a higher performance expansion chamber exhaust.
The work that was done in the above video was simply not enough to get any significant changes in performance out of the 49cc bike. This was due to the fact that clearly the gearing needed to be changed to a higher level allowing the bike to travel at higher speeds than it was designed for additionally one had to increase the power output and performance to address the gear ratio changes made in order to allow the bike to go faster than its original gearing set up would have allowed. by carrying out the work stated above the bike was capable of travelling at considerably higher speeds than its was originally to do. The video above did not in my opinion make any serious attempt to address the real needs or issues to make the bike travel at higher speeds
However Moving on,
I gained my Full Motorbike license in 1980 and road a Kawasaki S1-C 250cc with a red frame and a blue tank. My younger years were mad years on a bike and I was always at Box Hill on almost Every Sunday afternoon. With my bike mates. I progressed on to a full Race tuned Yoshimura Honda 400 Four board out to 467cc with 11 to 1 ratio high compression pistons and a four in to one cut down Piper exhaust and box section Dresda rear swinging arm. With a five gallon race tank Full Race fairing and a single seat racing bum stop seat. The bike was in yellow and black. In those days it was the only 400 four I ever saw do power wheelie in every gear up to and including fourth gear and the engine sound was incredible even by today’s standards.
In my younger teenage days I simply had no fear on the road and one might say I rode like a complete lunatic my right hand was always on full throttle all the time. My view back then was speed limits were only for car drivers. I lived for speed, and I attended many illegal street race meetings and made good money winning bet after bet, week after week. It got to the point where people would not race me anymore. I finally got myself a Yamaha 350 TZ track race bike. Placing a number plate from a Yamaha LC 350 road bike which had been written-off I registered my track bike as a road legal bike fitting lights and the number plate and sent off the LC log book off to DVLA. At the time I was working towards a career in motorbike racing.
However like many of us that ride or have ridden motor bikes we have no doubt lost friends through bike accidents, and I was no exception for in 1981 I lost my lifelong best mate John in a horrific 160 mile per hour head on collision motorbike accident. John had overtaken a mates car with johns girlfriend in it the car had been overtaking another car and john had overtaken both cars on a hill he moved over to the right close to the top of the hill as a care had been coming the other way but on trying to get back to the left hand side of the road he was hit by a car travelling at 40mph Sadly John was travelling at 120mph at the time of the collision. It was such a bad accident that they could not find his bike or the main part of his body for some time on that night. He was finally found in three parts the main part was wedged in the branches of a tree with his bike a 1980 Kawasaki 400.
It was his own fault and he was as mad on the road as I was. I was due to be with him that fateful night for he had called me and invited me out with other friends for a beer he said he would call to collect me and give me a lift on the back of his bike so I could drink that evening. I declined on that occasion because I was due out on a date with a girlfriend choosing to take my bike to South London. The road next to my road was blocked by police on my way back home which was around 12pm on a Thursday night taking a detour due to the police re directing me due to a fatal RTA I remember thinking selfishly to myself wow someone has died I hope it is no one I know.
The next day I received a call from John’s step father who informed me of John’s death. His death hit me hard and I put my collection of four bikes way in my parents garage for six weeks and then took out my Yamaha TZ race bike for a ride late one night. I took the bike along the A24 between Leatherhead and Box Hill near Dorking I reached speeds of 140 but i had lost my edge now I was scared and I had fear in me, I rode my bike home and replaced the bike back in the garage, vowing never to ride a motorbike again. And with the exception of riding a 175cc dirt bike a few time across the south downs over a three month period, I did not ride a motorbike for 26 years.
I spent 26 years driving cars many of which were high performance fast cars, The fastest being a fully race tuned 3.5 litter V8 shoehorned into a TR7 two seater sports car body. I owned all sorts of cars from two 400 Cubic Inch or 6.6 litter V8 Pontiac Trans Am's to a classic 1967 302 Cubic inch or 5 litter V8 Ford Mustang, Ive had two Porsche's a Toyota Supra, through to an AMG Mecedes etc. The list is to large to mention.
Then one day about two years ago I sat down with my daughter and we watched Orange County Choppers on T.V. At first I was not into the idea of choppers, cruisers or V twin engines. I was simply unimpressed with the armchair Harley Davison’s and hairy bikers with more luggage space than a small car. Slowly over a period of time I watch O.C.C. and got into the idea of riding a bike again.
However this time I was going to be sensible, as I had a daughter to think of I said to myself. This time I would build myself a chopper bike to cruise around on. This time it would be a V Twin engined bike, loud and something slow a real bone shaker. I had looked at the choppers O.C.C. build on TV but I wanted an old school bike like an old vintage Indian. Or classic Harley Davison but stripped down little more than the frame wheels tank and a single seat with straight handle bars.
After considering a few options I felt that the only bike to go for was a Harley Davison but I was not willing to pay the prices since it was only going to be a bit of fun. In the end i decided that the best option was to start with a Yamaha Dragstar 650cc as retro cruiser based on a Harley Davison Fat Boy style. I was able to find a stripped down one that fit the bill for the plans I had. I was able to buy one for a couple of Grand off e Bay since then i have spent a further two thousand on the bike and went back to riding a bike again.
I still drive a car and have a shogun 3.5 litter V6 for work and a BMW 328i Convertible. I now live in West Sussex and have done for the last 10 years. In that time I have got to know many people but few I would have called friends. Since going back to riding a bike I have met many new people many I am happy to call real friends. Most are all on Harley Davison’s but the odd one with another type of V Twin cruiser. As I eased myself back into the saddle so to speak. I became more in to the idea of being a biker again. My confidence was lacking at first I was concerned about leaning over in the turns which seems a bit crazy in many respects as i used to lean my bike over so low I would scrape my knee on the road surface in my younger years but after a few weeks of riding i was back to my old self on a bike and its true what they say its like riding a bicycle you never forget.
Take a shout Cruse on a V Twin in the Far East in this clip, see the full length film on You Tube. Also check out other V Twin choppers and Low Riders after this clip.
I was and to a degree am very happy as a biker riding a cruiser or chopper. Its me i love the sound of the V twin engine with a set of slash cut straight through pipes.
However now I am used to riding again for the last year and im pleased to say its like riding a bike LOL it soon comes back and i am now really back on two wheels again and loving it. so much so that I began to look at the sports bikes gain. As the reality of it all is for me I am an out and out Sports bike rider, riding a cruiser or old school chopper. In my middle 40s Clearly i cant keep up or match their speeds. however I really love my cursing slow revving V twins with tones of bottom end toque and the camaraderie and friendships are there iv made more friends in 9 months of riding a bike again than in the last 9 years without riding. Now i have sung the praises of all my cruising buddies. which I am being extremely sincere about. I shall admit that parked in my garage is a new addition to my bike stable which is now my second bike and unlike years ago where it would have been my main bike sits a Kawazaki Ninja 636cc.
Over this Summer I have ridden my chopper bike much of the time choosing to ride as a posed to driving my cars. When im out at a number of biker haunts i checked out some insane sports bikes and took a couple for a ride the sheer top end power speeds front wheel riding up was something I was missing when riding my chopper So within a week I found myself spending money on a sports bike to play with as an alternative to life in the slow lane, for those times i need an adrenaline speed fix and Now I have got back in to riding the four cylinder engine with a high rev power band and keeping the engine in that 12 to 14,000 RPM range in each gear.
I am having the basic Ninja re built in full racing spec. With full competition race firings single seat racing seat dyno jetted and of course re sprayed red and with the RSR logos and www.RedSkinRecords.com which will be strategically placed all over it as in company Sponsorship. This will add to the racing profile of RSR as the company has just agreed to sponsor two single seat Racing cars and the bike will be a nice third addition. Happy Riding, and keep it safe.
Checkout the lighting on this Baby ;-)and See other bikes after enjoy.

Activities: I guess I am a conspiracy theorist I spend a good deal of time researching on the internet about a number of conspiracies and I have found that many of these have deep links to one another in some way. The result is best unspoken about.
Interests: Well like you all I love riding Bikes of all types from out and out race bikes to choppers and low riders however Speed is like a drug to me and I cannot get enough of it. The comes a point when the road simply limits the speed one can do in a car or a bike. This is where I have to say my wheels leave the ground I am a forma RAF Officer and was lucky enough to fly as an instructor. I love flying aerobatics and I was extremely lucky to get to fly the Hawk aircraft a single engine fast jet trainer flying that was taking it to the next dimension.
Favorite Music:
Music for me is a gift from the gods I have always loved music and I have been playing musical instruments for about 18 years now. I have studied music technology and sound engineering as a mature student though god that was back in 1992 wow how time flies. I have performed as a musician and worked as a session musician and play a number of instruments. From Spanish Guitar to Double bass and conga drums to mention but a few. I also write music and produce music and have owned a number of pro recording studios. Today music is my livelihood and I am the founder and Managing Director of Red Skin Records Ltd The World’s First Major Digital Records Label. www.redskinrecords.com In terms of music genre and on a personal level I am in to dance music or urban music more than rock though our label has rock music on it as well as many other genre’s I love Latin Jazz, Salsa, Brazilian and hip hop and euphoric chill out music.
Favorite TV Shows: I loved Miami Vice, sadly I watch EastEnders I like Orange County Choppers, StarTreck but to be honest i love tv and work in TV production through red skin records but i seldom get much time to watch it.
Favorite Movies: I love films and have over five hundred DVD but sadly rarely get a chance to sit down and watch them. However to mention but a few I like Mad Max One, the fast and the furious, 2 fast 2 furious Toque, Training day, Bad boys etc and I also like more intellectual and deep films. One of the areas of business we are into is television production for music video’s so I enjoy working in music video making for our clients and want to go on to make a film about bikers at some point in the future.
Favorite Books: I do not get much time to sit down and read books for fun or enjoyment however I did spend a lot of my time with my head berried in text books while I was studying for my career both RAF and music and media
Favorite Quotes: I like quotes that are practical and make sense one’s that I can remember from my aviation career was “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail”. The other quote I like is “Failure to make a decision is a decision in its self”. the other quote is on the back of my motor cycle leather jacket which says "Peace through superior housepower"
About Me: Hummm... well I am a well educated 45 year old man that looks younger than my years I am a professional type of person, I am an Ex Pilot and RAF Commissioned Officer now retired from the military. Today I am on the board of Director of a number of companies within Music, Television broadcasting, Media, and Fashion Design. I am 5’11 inches tall or 178cm in height. I have a 44 inch chest and I am a black British biker, and I do not suffer fools easily.
2002 Kawasaki Ninja The Bike has now finally been re built at last it’s been re built for the Track first and for most but is also used on the road as well. it’s incredibly quick and pretty loud with its Leo Vinche Motor GP racing exhaust. These are the first photos since it was re built. This picture is the bike set up to take a passenger but it’s normally a single seat configuration with a C Hump. I plan to put my company sponsor ship on the bike soon.
