Today was a bittersweet day for me. My adopted son who is 17 and has FASD has been having a lot of issues lately and has gotten very aggressive. He was arrested again last Sunday for assault. Today was his court day for his prior assault, less then a month prior. My son needed to be removed from home due to how dangerous he has become. But he also needs to be placed somewhere that will help him. I was told they would place him in respite for a week then he would be back home……… like putting a band-aid on a bigger problem. The courts ordered in my favor to not allow him back home at this time do to the danger he is to his sisters and I. He will not be returning home in a week. That is the good news.

The bad news is they are going to put him in a Foster home, not a group home or treatment center that he needs. 60% of children with FASD end up dead or in prison by the time they are 30… If my son does not get the help he needs he will just be another lost soul.

Please ask of every female out there do not drink when you are pregnant. Do not hurt your child like my 3 adopted children have been hurt. And any one who believes in god, a higher power whatever, pray for my son and the other children out there like him………..
