I feel no joy
though I know no pain
my heart falls to the floor
with blood it will stain
Another woman departs
another hard goodbye
and I head back home
with tears in my eyes
Someday it will hit me
one day I will learn
and only then will
this fire inside me
fade and cease to burn
My gift is my curse
a loving heart in a lonely man
with the uncanny ability to push her away
in the style in which only I can
The rush of blood that filled my senses
whenever she was near
now only leaves an echo
of her voice that rings in my ear
The spark inside me has died
and maybe this time for good
as I wander now among the numb
searching for answers within their brood
Where to go now
what to do next
is it worth pressing on
or am I forever to be hexed
Forced now to have no feelings
and turn my heart to stone
this my life is mine to lead
and I must go it alone
Maybe someday the spell will crack
and allow me to love again
but for now I hide it away
for fear of the pain
