I have ended more marriages than I would like to admit (mainly due to domestic violence) but finally found a man who respects me and who I can't live without and I don't plan to ever lose this one.

The Ride
Dedicated To Grasshopper
He crosses over a bridge
then another on this ride
he has been on before
reluctantly but proud
A Yearly run he rides
in memory of a brother lost
the sun blazes overhead
he can feel the heat
beneath his leather
as he shifts his weight on his trike
his mind wanders
he wonders how many sleepless nights
and busted knuckles he actually spent
on this piece of art
He daydreams abit about that other ride he saw
in that Easy Riders magazine
thinking what a piece of work it is
hoping to soon check it out firsthand for himself
or build himself one just like it
but for now he rides with pride
on this trike he built
and turns his head to smile
at his Pop Racker riding not far behind him
and then at his ol lady Databuds who shares his ride
Databuds squeezes his thigh with one hand
and hugs him close to her with her other arm
he leans back toward her in acknowledgement
loving the feel of her close to him
He smiles
happy and at peace
and they cruise on down the highway
toward another sunset
doing what they like best
being in the wind and straddled close
as they continue on the ride
they call life...together.

My husband and I ride a trike motorcycle that he built and hit as many runs and rallys as we can, mostly we just ride to ride.
I have friends and family who ride motorcycles....and we ain't weekend warriors! We are Old School bikers.
I have never been to jail or prison except to visit my friends who have.
I've got a son, friends and family in the military.
