THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in August 1892 by the socialist minister Francis Bellamy (1855-1931). It was originally published in The Youth's Companion on September 8, 1892. Bellamy had hoped that the pledge would be used by citizens in any country.

In its original form it read:

"I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

In 1923, the words, "the Flag of the United States of America" were added. At this time it read:

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

In 1954, in response to the Communist threat of the times, President Eisenhower encouraged Congress to add the words "under God," creating the 31-word pledge we say today. Bellamy's daughter objected to this alteration. Today it reads:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Section 4 of the Flag Code states:

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag: "I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.", should be rendered by standing at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart (Obama can't do this). When not in uniform men should remove any non-religious headdress with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder, the hand being over the heart. Persons in uniform should remain silent, face the flag, and render the military salute.

The American's Creed
by William Tyler Page

I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.

I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

–Written 1917, accepted by the United States House of Representatives on April 3, 1918.

The Economic Bill of Rights
January 11, 1944

--------------------------------------------
Excerpted from Franklin Delano Roosevelt's message to Congress on the State of the Union. This was proposed not to amend the Constitution, but rather as a political challenge, encouraging Congress to draft legislation to achieve these aspirations. It is sometimes referred to as the "Second Bill of Rights."
---------------------------------------------
It is our duty now to begin to lay the plans and determine the strategy for the winning of a lasting peace and the establishment of an American standard of living higher than ever before known. We cannot be content, no matter how high that general standard of living may be, if some fraction of our people — whether it be one-third or one-fifth or one-tenth — is ill-fed, ill-clothed, ill-housed, and insecure.

This Republic had its beginning, and grew to its present strength, under the protection of certain inalienable political rights — among them the right of free speech, free press, free worship, trial by jury, freedom from unreasonable searches and seizures. They were our rights to life and liberty.

As our nation has grown in size and stature, however — as our industrial economy expanded — these political rights proved inadequate to assure us equality in the pursuit of happiness.

We have come to a clear realization of the fact that true individual freedom cannot exist without economic security and independence. "Necessitous men are not free men." People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.

In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all — regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;
The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;
The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;
The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;
The right of every family to a decent home;
The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;
The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;
The right to a good education.
All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being.

America's own rightful place in the world depends in large part upon how fully these and similar rights have been carried into practice for our citizens.

ALL AMERICANS:

Obama and members of our Government are only the Puppets in a bigger picture of
deception, greed, and power!

American Legion Riders

American Legion Riders,
the loud thundering roar,
of our freedom providers,
sacrificing life and more.

Remembering now and then,
lonely nights of terror and fear,
the bloody battles back when,
to fallen riders they shed a tear.

Our price of freedom is high,
world of oppression and pain
sacrificing their life many die,
protecting in the pouring rain.

Their spirit always in the wind,
fighting for democracy they give,
in our country's wars they've been,
many dying for our freedom to live.

Riding with their head's held high,
they serve us all, for you and me,
as the Bald Eagle soaring in the sky,
The Legion Riders are all they can be.

I am the Membership Officer of the American Legion Riders , Post 2, Tempe, AZ, in honor of my late father ~ US Army ~ Korea (1951-1953) RIP Dad, I'll always love you and miss you!

I have a voice and I use it! All the MRO's fight for your right to ride what you want, modify it, and keep yourself free from helmet use.

Currently, there is a bill in the House to remove all photo enforcement systems in AZ. Stay tuned. This one has a lot of support and is making its way through the ranks quickly. Make sure you sign the petition from

CamaraFraud.com

to get it on the ballot for the 2010 vote. I already did!! This group is fighting the camaras in Arizona and possibly other states. Currently there are a few states that have already made them illegal. Let Arizona be one of those states!! The camaras do not only take your picture if you're speeding, they run 24/7 streaming videos monitoring highways. Say cheese everytime you pass one. You're being watched.
