The 1st annual memorial poker run to honor the memory of James “Monro” Mentzer. Jim was the father of three and grandfather of 7. In August of 2005 he succumbed to brain cancer at he age of 57. He will always be missed and loved by those that knew him.
All proceeds from this run will benefit The American Cancer Society (ACS) and The Holly Heilman Cancer fund which is a fund to help out cancer victims and their families with much needed money in their time of need.
Registration will be from 10am to 11:45am. The run will begin at Washington Park in Ashland, PA at 12pm it will then take riders and passengers on to several stops where refreshments and/or food will be available for purchase. It will end at Washington Park in Ashland, PA where prizes will be awarded for the best and worst hands along with raffles for great prizes and a 50/50 drawing. All hands must be turned in no later than 3 pm to be validated in a timely manner.
The Classic Rock Band, Steppin Back, will be playing for your enjoyment. Also a buffet style picnic will be served. If you only want to attend the after party you may purchase a voucher for the food/entertainment for $10 each.
Cost of the run will be $20 for the rider or for a passenger. Each one will receive a hand with their entry fee and a food ticket. Additional hands, up to 4, may be purchased for $5 each for a total of 5 hands per person
